iv just been denied free prescriptions because iv been a tax payer in this country for 40 years , we both work and or income is x but the government has decided that x isnt low enough to get free drugs , and now there compensating the ...knobs in the streets.

You only get free prescriptions if you meet certain criterias. I guess they've said you don't meet one of the criteria?

Fairly certain over 60s get free prescription, outside of that if you are both working you should be paying.

Get one of those NHS pre-payments cards. I pay £10.40 a month for it to be valid for year.

I've never had any private medical care. I've paid national insurance and tax for nearly all my working life. Sorry to disappoint you.
