Darlo’s European Hopes Dashed

Sadly, Darlington’s hopes of appearing on the European Stage have been dashed. No I am not referring to the football club’s omission from the Champions League, but the town’s attempt to host the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023. Unfortunately, we are not one of the preferred 7 bids that will be put forward for hosting next years competition.
Never mind we will just have to aim for European football, by my reckoning it is achievable by 2028/29 season, given 5 promotions and a top 6 finish in the Premier League

I didn't know we had made a late bid to host the competition. But after the announcement of the final 7, there was a guy on the radio who runs the main Eurovision blog and the first thing he said was that we was very disappointed that Darlington as a late bid, had not made the final shortlist.
