Bands You'd Love To See Reform

Post by Mullet69 » Fri Aug 13, 2010 11:23 am

Let's have a thread about past bands you'd love to see reform, and that can include those where members are now deceased.

I'll start with the Stone Roses - still convinced that this will happen one day!

Now that the Legend Ronnie James Dio is no longer with us and long running saga between Ozzy Osboure and Tony Iommi has been resolved over the ownership of the "Black Sabbath" name I would love them to reform.

If we are including bands with deceased members, it would have to be The Sensational Alex Harvey Band. Best live act I ever saw & I'm old enough to have seen Hendrix, The Doors etc.

The elastic band I snapped earlier - it was my only one and I would love to see it reform. I don't think that will happen though, sadly.

Id love to see Simon and Garfunkel play live in my lifetime. They still do the occasional show, but its pretty rare, due to the fact they fucking hate each other.

Marr - How he can work with that prick from the cribs is beyond me.
Morrissey - Miserable veggie scoffing arrogant twat.

And that's coming from someone who works in Salford.

Bollocks to the pair of them.

I'll agree with you about Morrissey whilst his musical talents are fantastic him as a person I can't stand (at times) I imagine him been a right bellend.

The original Guns N' Roses (saw the new lineup in '06 and enjoyed it but the classic lineup would be amazing)
The Darkness
Death From Above 1979
Stone Roses (as long as it wasn't permanent, cos Ian Brown's solo stuff keeps getting better and better)

Gene - the most underrated band ever.

Sadly around the same time as the Shitpop era and never got the credit they fully deserved.

Rossitter had a far better voice than Gallagher/Albarn put together and the melodies/lyrics were sublime....

Another Level

"Let me lick you up & down
Til you say stop
Let me play with your body baby
Make you real hot
Let me do all the things you want me to do
'Cause tonight baby,
I wanna get freaky with you "

Timeless.

Agreed, Olympian was one of my favourite tunes in the mid-90s. Unfortunately, they kind of got bracketed in the same ilk as bands like Menswear, My Life Story, Babybird, even Shed 7 to an extent - one of those bands that Melody Maker might have rated but NME hated and vice versa. And back in the day, those opinions seemed to really affect a bands popularity.

Why of course ;)

BTW I just loved the irony of the lyrics to "Come as you are"

"And I swear that I don't have a gun, no I don't have a gun"

I think you fibbed there Kurt
