Re: whos going to wembley in the car
Im driving down with a car full. Hoping to leave about 7am. Got the beast in for its timing belt change and a few other little jobs before it makes the 500 mile round trip
Re: whos going to wembley in the car
Think Leicester Forest East are the most popular stop offs for buses going south.quakerray wrote:gonna have the flags and scarfs on the car, just wondered to see if we pass any going down, and what services are people thinking of stopping at.
Like many others, I'm going down in the car on Friday night.

Re: whos going to wembley in the car
I'll have a full car going down on the morning, scarves also out of the windows. Probably setting off at 7ish. Hopefully won't need to stop at any services. I reckon once we pass Mansfield the motorway is going to get pretty busy, so leave yourself plenty of time just in case there are any hold ups.
Re: whos going to wembley in the car
I'm travelling down on Saturday in the car with my 11ths yr old. Was gonna set off at 8 but I guess I might make it earlier as everyone seems to be setting of at 7. Not really thought about about a stop off, probably just stop when nature calls or we are hungry.

That's brave taking such a young child with you, although I guess you hope that they'll sleep most of the way. I think if you leave at 8am your asking for trouble and surely part of the experience is to get there in good time, in order to soak up the special atmosphere.
Re: whos going to wembley in the car
As above. Leaving Friday morning. Get set up at the hotel near Wembley and then take the kids to Legoland, or something, in the afternoon. Food, drinks in the bar (hopefully with other Darlo fans), before brief visit to bed and all you can eat breakfast, before the pinnacle of my last ten years as a Darlo supportermoodymonica wrote:Same as Q - different car and hotel tho

All you can eat breakfast - must be Premier Inn? Harrow, or did you get in the Wembley one?
Re: whos going to wembley in the car
4 of us in a car down on the day and straight back home after the game.

Re: whos going to wembley in the car
Oh yeah, you are the one that took MY room
Mind you it's £15 to park your car there for 24 hours on an event day, but it's free at the one I'm staying at.

Re: whos going to wembley in the car
I've given them a ring and your room was number 1352 and some bloke called Bassett booked the room twenty minutes before you tried.Quakerz wrote:Oh yeah, you are the one that took MY room

Re: whos going to wembley in the car
The Premier Inns all you can eat breakfasts are excellent.Had one at Tewkesbury not too long back, ended up having about 5 sausages, 4 rashers of bacon, mushrooms, beans, toast, croissants, grapefruit segments and coffee. (Was too stuffed to eat the muffin so put it back).
Felt like I'd swallowed a beach ball afterwards, but worth every penny.
