Clear indication cooper has thrown the play off towel in. Hatch could have played tonight and if he got booked rest him on Sat. If he didn't get booked tonight he was in the clear.Breedon wrote:Ah right, common sense to leave him out of one of the two games then.quakersam wrote:Hatch has to get to Sunday without getting two bookings then they are wiped
The BBC Wales commentary is much better...they're actually commentating on the game rather than spiraling off topic every time they utter a sentence like Ash is doing.

Re: Newport v Darlington Match Thread
Listening to Ash on our commentary it's confusing at times as to who's attacking! Lots of 'and it's a cross into the box....headed over the bar. Good work by the defenders' etc etc - who's bar? Which defence?!
Come back Ray. I'm missing the Whitby score updates!

As soon as I saw the starting line up I knew we'd get nowt from this game. Considering we need to go all out and win every match, besides Bridge Wilinson we hardly have any attacking options, let alone someone who can put the ball in the net.
Still a bit of work to be done in the summer if we're to mount a promotion campaign next season, as on paper tonights line up is mid-table at best.

Re: Newport v Darlington Match Thread
The BBC Radio Wales commentators seem to be saying Darlo have been the better side for the most part but 2 silly mistakes have handed Newport the initiative. Very dissapointing, but by the sounds of it our attack hasn't been as dismal and blunt as some are making out.

Newport v Darlington Match Thread
In all fairness we've been ok,a bit long ball if anything and yes 2 defensive mistakes have cost us,2 nd was not good, they had so much space it was unreal .......
Re: Newport v Darlington Match Thread
Its frustrating that we've been doing this all season, giving away soft goals when playing well, but its a bit easier to swallow now that we've accepted the playoffs are out of the window (earlier in the season I would probably be furious at the moment!), we just need to sharpen up and get ourselves a lot more organised as the season draws in so we dont do anything silly on cup final day! I'm actually not totally resigned to defeat here, the commentators really seem to be giving our lads a lot of respect for how they've played so far. Theres still points to play for here, and Cooper is good at getting a reaction in these situations! Fingers crossed, a good comeback here would really lift morale for Saturday!

Damn right Breedon. You'd think we'd scored 0 the way people are going on.Breedon wrote:Very dissapointing, but by the sounds of it our attack hasn't been as dismal and blunt as some are making out.

Re: Newport v Darlington Match Thread
I don't understand why Cooper has changed the formation to a 3-5-2/5-3-2, this formation does not manipulate the full qualities of the players - especially MBW
Darlo till I die!!

Nothing against Ivan Ash but was anyone else a bit disappointed when the Tees commentary came back on?
Okay maybe that was a small dig at Ash. Can't quite get used to his 'style' to be honest.

There are so few Darlo fans at the game tonight, that they're allowing Newport fans to switch ends at half-time.
