The 'What have you been watching' Thread

Post by Ash_Quaker » Thu Dec 13, 2012 7:54 pm

Like the music thread, I want to know what you all /have been/will be watching. Or any gems from the past.

Yes, I'm obsessed.

I'm currently watching a documentary called "Illegal Killing" about the (according to this documentary) murder of Princess Diana.

For anyone interested.

Quite boring I'm afraid, really enjoyed season 3 of the walking dead and also some great stuff on Sky Arts recently about Deep Purple and Dire Straits

Also watched the Expendables the other night, made me chortle

Nothing high brow

Been watching the new series of Peep Show as well.

Also most of the British Comedy Awards last night, fairly shite. Although the return of Ali G certainly made me laugh!

Breaking Bad - About a high school chemistry teacher who becomes a meth dealer to pay for his chemo when he gets cancer. Its halfway through its final season, and is one of the best TV dramas I've watched. Funny, Violent, Sick, Tragic, its bloody brilliant, easily up there with The Wire and Sopranos.

Spiral - French cop drama. Shows the dark and seedy side of Paris. Lots of conflicted characters and Frenchies being all melancholy and emotional.

Its always Sunny in Philadelphia - Comedy along the lines of Curb Your Enthusiasm or Seinfeld. Disfunctional arseholes acting like arseholes in amusing situations.

Aye, Mad Dogs is class. I thought they should have ended it after the 1st series, but the 2nd was brilliant too. Hopefully the third series is out soon!

Nah. I think they've dealt with the cast changes really well and it's still a good way to spend an hour on a Sunday night. If they can keep rotating people in and out like that it could go for years yet.

I just started getting in to Fresh Meat before it finished, so now preparing to work my way through it on 4OD.

I watched Lillehammer, that was good.

Trying to get in to the Sopranos which I never watched before.

On the subject of the Comedy Awards, I thought the resurrection of Ali G was a bit cringeworthy in parts - didn't seem natural at all and hadn't aged well in a comedic sense.

Arrow on sky1 is a top show-the sort of thing you watch the 1st episode and get hooked by it-trueblood another good 1 if you've watched from the start as a little weird......

Homeland is on my list to watch - everyone is raving about it.

I have recently discovered that I can get 4OD through my Xbox, which was previously only used for playing the occaisional game and watching DVDs. This has opened my eyes to a whole world of on demand TV I'd never have been bothered to look through before.

Homeland and Boardwalk Empire are unmissable.

The Fear which was on Channel 4 recently was very good.

Fresh Meat/Lillehammer both top notch.

Dexter, Sopranos and The Wire are still my favorites

Fringe, Blue Bloods, Shameless USA, Peep Show, Idiot Abroad to name a few. I'm going to try and get into The Wire streamed through Netflix or lovefilm. Also been watching a bit of 3D stuff but need more titles to be released really.

I've been watching Peep Show as well - this series is all the more funny for me because I deal with quite a few of these 'life coach' types through work.

I also enjoy Celebrity Juice a great deal.

Shameless usa is really really bad IMO, then again the last couple of series of Shameless uk have been appalling as well

I missed the first couple of series of the UK version so maybe that's why I'm watching it because it's filling in the gaps. The latest UK series aren't bad just not as good as previous series.

Inbetweeners USA on the other hand is an insult.

I've been hooked on Homeland since the start but bit worried it's turning from an edgy psychological drama into a drawn-out series of 24 lately. Could do with a new box set in my life and thinking Breaking Bad or Dexter could be up my street.

I watched an episode of that because I'm a big Vic Reeves fan. I thought it was pap.
