Spennymoor FA Vase
Re: Spennymoor FA Vase
Well done spennymoor......
Re: Spennymoor FA Vase
Yes, well done. And it makes our chamionship worth a lot more. We have beaten a class side in a very good league.
let's get a new FA. This one's broken.

Re: Spennymoor FA Vase
Spenny outclassed Tunbridge for most of the game. The score doesn't reflect their dominance. Great occasion and a decent effort by Spennymoor fans and also a few Darlo fans

This is the attitude that has stopped myself, as a supporter of one of "the big3" going to darlo games, along with several of my mates, don't blame the other clubs for the very poor support darlo has always had,DL5 wrote:Actually no I don't agree, the "Big 3" bleed our support like crazy, Hartlepool don't so I can't truthfully say I want the 3 to do well, they can all fuck off for that reason. In that case, stuff the B***,(you get my drift)!
Any success other clubs have will never effect darlo crowds, because after a season where only darlo and spennymoor have had any success the only gates that have gone down is the boro,
Just be happy with last season and stop slagging off everyone else, be more gracious on the way up because its a very long way down,

I wouldnt say darlo's support has ever been 'very poor'... We were always average compared with other league 2/conference teams, fair enough the support had dwindled over the years of disappointment, but never VERY poor...darloismyhome wrote:This is the attitude that has stopped myself, as a supporter of one of "the big3" going to darlo games, along with several of my mates, don't blame the other clubs for the very poor support darlo has always had,DL5 wrote:Actually no I don't agree, the "Big 3" bleed our support like crazy, Hartlepool don't so I can't truthfully say I want the 3 to do well, they can all fuck off for that reason. We shouldn't blame the other North East teams.
We should blame the 'glory' chasing football 'supporters' who choose not to support their home town team. They're the real c**** in all this.

And there are more fans of Man Utd, Liverpool, Leeds Utd etc, in this town than there is of some of the "big three".

I wasn't born in darlo, I live in darlo, dicks, and as I said that is the attitude that stops more people going to games and good luck with getting the money for a ground in darlo,
Does anyone realise how much that is going to cost?? The council will never pay for it, that is defiantly a vote loser when they can't even pay for toilets in the town,
And if it wasn't for people from Northallerton, Barnard castle, Richmond etc the gates would have been even worse for years hopefully you don't slag them off for not supporting there home teams,
You have to realise that you can't keep offending people if you ever want to attract more support,
And maybe in the future i can see the name will change to " Tindale Crescent FC " lol where the team plays just like Milton Keynes dons, even more lol

Comparing our team to MK Dons is the internet message board equivalent of a two footed challenge. Has to be an instant red card. You seem to have an axe to grind with Darlo. Please someone show this horrible cocksocket the door.

Re: Spennymoor FA Vase
I did not know what to make of the Echo's interview with the chairman of Spennymoor, Brad Groves, before the Vase. He says he has invested a "six-figure sum" since he got involved in 2009.
But he says the club is now "financially self-sufficient", they owe nowt, they have "over 100 sponsors over the course of the season", a "specialist events team" who do fund-raising, promotions and draws. "We've got sponsorship deals that would make some professional clubs jealous. You've got to go out there and work for it."
He goes on... "People say the finances of football are complicated. But they're not. Don't spend what you haven't got."
This is a club with 23 or 24 players on their books, most on contracts and decently paid, with a big backroom staff and an average attendance of about 440 (boosted significantly by the large crowd when we played there).
He must be some kind of a miracle worker if it's right that they are "financially self-sufficient" and he reckons "a number of professional clubs offered me roles" but he chose Spenny from a list that included Bishops and Blyth.
His target is being a "top eight club in Conference North". "You have to be honest and we're never going to be a full-time club in the Conference".
And next season is all about promotion from the Northern League...

I wasn't born in Darlington and I`m new to supporting footie as you all know, but to the individual making his mouth go, in one year I`ve found myself brought into this club with welcoming arms. Don't mean to sound mushy but I`m not having folk coming on here saying the club excludes newcomers

Ive followed Darlo for the last 28 years or so yet have no real connection to the town, nearest connection is being born in catterick - I've met some great people in my time from all over the uk and have to say every Darlo fan I've met have been a real pleasure to know-this season I think has brought Darlo fans far and wide much closer together and all can be proud to be connected with the club no matter how big or small...........

But just one last point and then I will never pass this way again, if your gates hadn't ALWAYS been a joke you wouldn't be travelling away for a home game,

Wait, we're being lectured on fan quality by a Newcastle fan?
Doesn't he have a horse to punch or a lower league game to gatecrash somewhere?
