Robinson signs

Post by quakerste » Mon May 20, 2013 6:54 am

Now confirmed in today's Echo, Robinson has signed a two year contract. Robinson signed on a free transfer from Whitley Bay.

Hopefully more signings to be announced this week.

Brilliant signing and I'm impressed that we've managed to get him because I always had the impression that he was very happy to stay at Whitley Bay.

If he still needed convincing then we did that at their place.
I came away that day knowing we'd get him.

Great signing - the best opposition player I've seen this season.

I was, and Ameobi played well. Although he did give away a penalty.Robinson had a quite game at Bay, but in the game at HP he was outstanding. Robinson is widely regarded as one of the best players in the NL - to call him OK is doing him a disservice!

Wasn't able to get to either game against Bay, but judging by peoples reaction and his reputation, it looks like we've got a very good player to come into an already very good squad, more of the same please MG!

Ameobi was immense. But he's gone back abroad I believe.

very happy with the signing. Is he only a CM or can he play wide on the right.

That's 4 quality CMs - Galbraith, Robinson, Gott and Davis.

More of a player that likes to roam within the midfield, so can play multiple positions. A friendly up at Whitley Bay is also part of the deal

What deal?

He was out of contract, wasn't he?

Adam Nicholls just put on Facebook 'Think it might be time to return home to where it all began!!! Decisions'.

Could potentially be another player leaving (or something completely unrelated as well I suppose)

It could be a case where he thinks he won't get much game time next season ala Richardson, especially if we're signing Chris Moore and Kerry Hedley.

I hope we keep hold of him though, he did well for us and it's sad to see any player depart a successful team.

Agree with Quakerz, after what these lads achieved for us I cannot ever remember a case where many fans would have kept every single one of them for the following season, and its a shame the 3 lads have decided to move on.Really hope Adam stays, but he needs to find his form from the beginning of last season to get his place back, will be tough with the likes of Thommo and Robinson but he is good enough to force his way back.

The big downside for these lads leaving us is going back to playing in front of small crowds of 100-200 from 1500-2000, that will be very, very tough.

4 midfielders at the club now Galbraith Gott Davis and Robinson carnt see all these players staying as 2 can only start if I remember right away at Whitley bay Gott and Davis ran the show in there that day Galbraith came on and also played very well after injury. Robinson had a off day and is a very good player but Gott 23 Davis 21 Galbraith 23 seemed to be 3 good young lads just hope all 4 can be kept happy which in my eyes is going to be very unlikely and hard on whoever decides to leave

Gott can slot in at right back and Galbraith can play left back so all 4 players can be accommodated if required, with one possibly on the bench.

Robinson had an off day? Don't think so. Him and Ameobi were carrying Bay.
Showed plenty of energy and range of good passing in both games.

Work commitments will be a big disruption for us next season especially for the midweek away games. I suspect a lot of squad rotation will happen over the course of the season.
