Apparently he's a pacey winger and used to play for Blyth Spartans and Team Northumbria.

He was offered a deal by Gateshead but it wasn't what he was expecting apparently.

Think he played for us once on trial at Bradford Park Ave at the start of the Todd erm 'era'. Looked sharp for Gateshead when I have seen him.

I would think we could do with more wide options with both Nicholls and Emms going

Be a cracking signing Marzy. Impressive when I've seen him. Not sure he'd want to drop this far mind. If we could bring him in plus a Fisher/AJ we'd be sorted

Would be a great signing. From memory he stood out quite a bit when we played them a couple of years ago in particular, was a vast improvement on Rundle from memory!

Care to elaborate?

We are several leagues below them so he may not be good enough for their standard but he could be for ours.

Makes me cringe like fook when people on this board refer to the players like "Brownie", "Belly", "Gotty" ect. If this means another player added to that list then I hope we don't sign him, just for this reason.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Ah that clears it up then.

That is quite a swooping statement to make after all!

It used to be just Poolies that called their players by nicknames as if they were their mates or something..."Boydy", "Humps", "Tinks", "Stevo" etc etc, and I used to laugh like fuck at them.

Darlo fans doing the same is an embarrassing new development.

Please desist, everyone.

it is a bit weird, particularly when it's players who are Gateshead's players!

Calling Galbraith 'Tez' has to be the worst one of these nicknames!

There are no hard and fast rules to Darlo player fan nicknames, but I reckon you should only get one if either;

a) you're out-and-out club legend like Lidds, Gabba or Hodgie
b) you're a fan favourite and you're bringing a quality nickname to the table like The Hitman or Stan Gaughan
or
c) you've got a full name that we can't be bothered to learn how to pronounce like Dave Ndumbu

Agreed. Aside from proper legends and comedy nicknames like Dave and THE HITMAN, nicknames are more than a bit embarrassing.

I know that I don't go around calling all my mates by their surname with 'sy' or 'o' added on to the end. One or two of them maybe, but they are my mates.

I cringe every time I read one of these nicknames given to complete strangers.

Aye, I was after more specific reasons as the first statement was far too vague, and he replied with another overly vague statement.

Basically what I was told is that he's a good runner but has no end product, and a lot of them would rather he did leave. He's only been offered a 6 month contract by Gateshead.

I always smile when you do the full team with nicknames of steadily increasing silliness... Who says sarcasm doesn't transmit across the web?
