Lidds has been let go by Sunderland according to the Sunderland Echo. Massively disappointed for him!

it sounds like he's done well this season from the report. Academy has won awards and came top of their group. Don't know how much credit Liddle could take for all that mind. I am sure he will land on his feet. Middlesborough/Newcastle next?

He will probably replace Colin Cooper at Middlesborough.

That's what I was thinking, it would be a good call for both of them.

Pity he can't slot in with our new youth setup somehow.

What dreams would be made of! He has a good record he won't need to drop out of FT football for a while yet. Who knows though in 5 yearsish he could be back?

Wonder if MGFA could throw him work over the summer which could nicely bring him close to the Darlo youth's again, but I suspect he won't be out of job for long given his reputation.

Reckon he may have upset Dicanio by calling him big nose in a monty python style voice lol

Hmmm so Di canio bangs on about existing players not being hard working and professional....and empties Liddle.

Doesn't add up.

Unless di canio has his own man to bring in.

If not....odd decision...

Sounds like it wasn't Di Canio's call.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Not 100% sure, but probably Ged McNamee's decision.

Massive shame, especially after his U18's won their league. The sad truth is he's probably paid the price for not being foreign/ an ex premier league player, which automatically makes him a bad coach.

Its sad in many respects but after all the fantastic attributes Liddle showed last season he is unlikely to be out of work long.

Sadly nice guys often don't get treated with the respect they deserve.
