Guesswork Transfers Thread
Ex Darlo - James Walshaw has left Harrogate Town. I know we don't need strikers really but be rude not to make up rumours at this time of year.
He can travel up with Cartman.
At the age of 31 probably not on our radar but gives a talking point.

Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
Similar to Dowson in style. Not sure he would be one I would go for though even with his track record in the lower leagues.

Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
Barney (the giant pink dinosaur) has just left Beverley Hills Utd and is keen on playing semi-pro football in the north of England.
He's not Ex Darlo but he's a "big unit" and can play both midfield and defence.
Could be worth a punt?

Jordan Connerton? Has been banging them in for Kendal Town. Not too far for the lad to travel?

Dave McTiernan (centre mid Whitby) and Ibby Hassan (right full back Whitby) would be two I'd make a claim for. McTiernan we went for last summer

Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
I liked the look of Hassan when I've seen him. Don't think I've ever seen McTiernan. Whitby will hate us if we steal more of their players

They hate us anyhow until they realised they have lost FC United but we will financially replace them.
Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
Sam Russell has been released by forest green
Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
I heard that we are in for someone new but can't say anything until it is announced. When it is confirmed I will reveal all.

Who you been talking to, sounds like you are really in the know.lo36789 wrote:I heard that we are in for someone new but can't say anything until it is announced. When it is confirmed I will reveal all.
Is this the wrong time to mention someone told me about Portas signing last season before he signed. (True story aswell).

Pretty sure their press officer said he hoped we would go bust after we signed Portas and Armstrong.D_F_C wrote:I liked the look of Hassan when I've seen him. Don't think I've ever seen McTiernan. Whitby will hate us if we steal more of their players
And Darren Williams went bonkers after we came in for McTiernan.
Accused us of tapping him up.

Absolutely, I reckon I can do it again after we have signed someone this season as well.Darlogramps wrote:You must be so proud.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Who you been talking to, sounds like you are really in the know.lo36789 wrote:I heard that we are in for someone new but can't say anything until it is announced. You could argue that he should have his best players on a contract

We will take far more to Whitby than FCUM ever took to Whitby. There was talk not long ago that Whitby might be leaving the league if their support didn't pick up.super_les_mcjannet wrote:They hate us anyhow until they realised they have lost FC United but we will financially replace them.

Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
Depending on who comes in at Gateshead and what their plans are, maybe Craig Baxter would be a decent shout for RB. Experienced, fairly local and has played at this level and lower
Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
Youhill from Harrogate.
Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
I notice Josh Gillies has been released from Carlisle. If Gateshead don't fancy snapping him back up he might struggle for suitors, a pretty big drop but he came from further down. Could be an opportunity to play regularly and get himself In the shop window again

Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
I think that's a good call. He has played quite lower so a move to this level wouldn't be a complete shock for him. If Gateshead don't want him then I think we should have a look as he can play on either side.divas wrote:I notice Josh Gillies has been released from Carlisle. I remember him putting a lovely cross in for Shaw to score at the Arena on NYD, just before we went into administration...

Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
Kallum Griffiths (Spenny) thought he was man of the match in the play off semi - looks a cracking player and will fill a need...
Re: Guesswork Transfers Thread
whilst I'm not saying we would ever get any of these players (especially since they are too good for our level and not from the area) it's interesting to see Ian Miller is not going to be offered a new contract at Cambridge. Greg Taylor is also transfer listed.

i just dont think its a good idea to be signing too many players that weve had before, white and hatch being the limit for me

Am I right in thinking that Ian Miller's wife owns a business in Darlington, which she set up when he was previously at the club?D_F_C wrote:whilst I'm not saying we would ever get any of these players (especially since they are too good for our level and not from the area) it's interesting to see Ian Miller is not going to be offered a new contract at Cambridge.
