Brown Replacement
With the sad news that Gary is leaving the club for family reasons, who is most likely to come in and replace him? Gray stated that he appreciated Gary letting him know with a bit of time before the season starts soo he can look for a replacement, Thoughts.

Re: Brown Replacement
Very unlikely we'd be able to attract someone like him given the wages he'd likely be looking for.

Re: Brown Replacement
I'd prefer someone who has experience of the Evo Stik leagues with potential to develop, rather than an ageing former player.Darlo.For.Life wrote:Neil Austin?
Granted that doesn't leave a particularly large pool of players.
Kallum Griffiths from Spennymoor perhaps? Although we'd almost certainly have to pay a fee.
Austin isn't the worst suggestion in the world but is on the wane.

Re: Brown Replacement
Gutted about Gary Brown.
He has been the epitome of everything that this club is about since we were dumped in the Northern League.
An absolute model (semi) pro who has continued to develop and improve as a player during his time here, and will be a brilliant signing for I presume a northern league club.

I'm pleased that we will now be in the market for a recognised right back. I'm sure Gray will have someone in mind.

Re: Brown Replacement
Bradley Staunch - defender ex Carlisle academy .
The big ginger lad who came on for the second half at Durham and played RB I would like to see him play again for a full game, imo he was one of the stand out trialists.

Re: Brown Replacement
Whoever it is they need a throw in like Brown. The amount of goals he created from them last season will be a big miss next year if not
Re: Brown Replacement
Doesn't Mitchell have a long throw as well. I'm sure he used it nearer the end of the season.

Re: Brown Replacement
I would hazard a guess as someone with a long throw who is also tall. Gray has said previously that he likes tall full-backs and favoured Galbraith over a well-perfoming Watson at the back end of the season with that in mind....

Ibby Hassan would be my choice from the local clubs.

Re: Brown Replacement
Spoke to Bradley Staunches dad at the Sunderland friendly. He had a 2 week holiday pre booked to somewhere like Ibiza. When he told Gray he said get fit while you're there and come back on song. Sounds like he may have further interest in him. He had a bad injury and is still on his way back. Thought he looked good against Durham and is tall and athletic. Shame is from The Pool.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.
