Stourbridge
Would like to see a large crowd for this game on Saturday,it should be a cracking game given that it's second against Third.even without some of our players we are a strong unit .

Re: Stourbridge
You're doing us an injustice there, check the league table!
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883
Re: Stourbridge
Wonder if Gray plays around with the formation a bit. On one hand when we are missing CBs you would say be solid defensively - on the flip side the best form of defence when you are short of a defence is probably attack.
3-5-2/3-4-3 anyone?
Gibbons, Hunter, Galbraith
Mitchell, Turnbull, Portas, (Scott), Thompson
(Gaskell), Armstrong, Cartman
Come on!

Re: Stourbridge
Hunter is still suspended..I guess you mean a back 3 of
Gibbons Burgess Galbraith.
I think Gray will stick to a back 4 with Galbraith coming into CB and possibly Callaghan coming in at LB...Difficult decisions to be made by MG

Re: Stourbridge
Both Galbraith and Scott have played CB before and given Portas is likely to be missing that only really leaves Galbraith with Callaghan at LB (which is probably why MG gave him some minutes last night) and the rest unchanged. It's not ideal but I most clubs at this level will need to shuffle the pack like that at times, it's just a shame we're playing a team with a very decent strike force.
Re: Stourbridge
Portas should be back meaning Scott will probably go left back and Galbraith in the centre.
Re: Stourbridge
Good news re Portas, thought the original prognosis was a few weeks

The team deserve a big crowd, I'm sure Stourbridge will bring a coachload as well. Probably 1400 to 1500.

Re: Stourbridge
Good news if Portas is back. I would have considered moving Turnbull back to Centre Half alongside Burgess and Galbraith as a three, as he reads the game so well. Might still be an option if Portas is back, just leave Scott in midfield.

Re: Stourbridge
My biggest concern over playing 3 at the back is that they have Karl Hawley playing up front for them.HarryCharltonsCat wrote:Good news if Portas is back. I think he will be a hand full for any defence, our defence will be already weakend by the two suspensions.
I think our best form of defending will be to attack and hopefully score more goals than they do....This game will NOT be a scoreless draw
