Re: poolies v Salford
I'd think there is a fair chance of it being picked for TV. I don't fancy poolies chances, Moore to get the sack when they get knocked out.

I'd prefer Hartlepool to get smashed.

Re: poolies v Salford
Quite amusing reading the Poolie message board, half of them shitting themselves at the thought of playing Salford.
Personally not bothered who wins, not really relevant for my clubs development/progression. I can't see the BBC putting the match on a Friday night (although rating wise it would be a winner) as they have already had a little backlash at the Man Utd/ex Man Utd exposure they have given already this year.

I wouldn't be bothered if our game was called off, to make way for a replay, Hopefully Salford would win that replay.roadrunner wrote:hope it's not a draw or our game v Salford will be off

Are you for real? I'd rather we played the game instead of having backlogs.

It might be off anyway if this game is chosen to be on the Sunday or Monday night

Can't believe this question !Mr_Tibbs wrote:So, who do we all want to win?
Hartlepool United are our rivals, always have been, always will be.....
Salford are just a minor irritation at the moment..... I hope they stuff Pools.
Re: poolies v Salford
This. When the Co92 get bored and leave, Salford will feck off back into obscurity while Darlo return to the Football League.DarloPeGi wrote:Can't believe this question !Mr_Tibbs wrote:So, who do we all want to win?

Re: poolies v Salford
Come on Salford. I'm not sure what some people's obsession with Salford is. Yes, they were our title rivals last season, and yes there was a bit of an issue at the away game, but that isn't enough to turn them into massive rivals! They probably have a decent chance, although the BBCs love in if they win would be nauseating.

Whose backlog would be worse, Andy? Salford already have three extra games to play. Bring on the replay.

Still rather play our games instead of twiddling our thumbs.

We play them on the 15th Dec.quakersam wrote:It might be off anyway if this game is chosen to be on the Sunday or Monday night
Cup weekend is on the 4th - 7th December. The cup game will have no impact on our league game, unless there is a reply.

As both sides cant be thrown out of the cup for wankyness i will say:

Re: poolies v Salford
Surely its favouritism if Salford are on again. Also Hartlepool were on live TV last year.
However, forget all that I hope it is on and Hartlepool get stuffed.

According to the BBC, Salford are our ARCH rivals. A misuse of the word arch in my opinion and not based on any historical legacy.

In fairness, it was meant in the context of last season, when we were their main title rivals.princes town wrote:According to the BBC, Salford are our ARCH rivals. A misuse of the word arch in my opinion and not based on any historical legacy.
"Arch-rivals" was a bit strong I agree, but at no point did the documentary make out it was a historic rivalry.

Re: poolies v Salford
Best scenario I can come up with is for Salford to thrash the hangers only to get booted out for fielding an ineligible player. Wanna see the Poolies get beat most of all - just rather it wasn't at the expense of Salford progressing... and the ensuing media love-in. If they won but then got booted out (that happened to Bury once) that would be ideal as far as I'm concerned as it would be pet lips all round in Salford plus there'd be chance to see the Poolies get thrashed by another non-league club in the next roundMKDarlo wrote:As both sides cant be thrown out of the cup for wankyness i will say:

Re: poolies v Salford
I'm not bothered about Salford in any way shape or form - they will do what they do over the next few years and there's nothing we can do about it. They'll be the next Fleetwood/Crawley/Forest Green, let them get on with it. They're just too insignificant to get worked up about or to have a rivalry with.
So as Salford mean less than nowt to me, I really hope that they humiliate and smash the kitten stamping, heron crossbowing, hamster microwaving, chimp choking fuckwits.

Having considered the very eloquent and persuasive argument offered by Mr Quakerz I feel moved to say that I am in agreement and I commend his statement to the house.Quakerz wrote:I'm not bothered about Salford in any way shape or form - they will do what they do over the next few years and there's nothing we can do about it.
