Bell; Mason, Johnson, Tait, Watson; Peacock, McReady, Gott, Fisher; Dowson, Pennal
Subs: Lowson
That former Darlo squad could hold its own, IMO.

But they played for Darlington. And we will be Darlington again, probably before Spennymoor revamp their scouting system.Shed7 wrote:Mason joined from Shildon in 2009

Furthermore, if you're going down that route, was John McReady not one of the players who was transferred from DFC2009 to DFC1883 when DFC1883 bought the club?

All of the above have played for Darlington Football Club, founded in 1883.Shed7 wrote:Mason joined from Shildon in 2009

McReady's contract was TUPE'd over from one holding company (DFC 2009 Ltd) to another (Darlington 1883 Ltd). Same club, different companies that owned the football club, there is a difference.
The name change was down to failing to obtain the footballing share from Raj Singh, we should revert to our rightful playing name in May 2017.
So yes, to reply to you, all of the players you have listed, as well as those that I have, have all played for Darlington FC & Spennymoor Town.

I love that insult because it lands on it's own arse really.
So you're saying a club only a couple months old, built from nothing, still managed to beat you at every step, despite your years of build up?
David and Goliath really.
One thing is for certain. Ainsley goes after the success'es of Martin Grey's watchful eye

We didn't just beat them, we pissed all over them.DarloDean wrote:Shed7 wrote:Mason joined from Shildon in 2009

Spennymoor have plenty of our cast offs, we don't seem to bother recruiting from Spennymoor!!!

Probably no need to insult our former players - the majority elected to leave us so that they could remain more local.Darlo_Pete wrote:Spennymoor have plenty of our cast offs, we don't seem to bother recruiting from Spennymoor!!!

Re: And another one goes to---
Natural choice to be honest to continue playing for a local team but as high as possible, Blyth and Whitby are a bit of a hike for players around this way.
They may well be in the same league as us next season if Spenny make it in the playoffs and we don't go up.
Find the Bell move a bit strange though, when he left us it seemed he wanted to play local and be first choice. He won't get local games at Spenny and possibly won't be first choice either or is Lowson injured.

Re: And another one goes to---
Hope they checked his international registration papers thoroughly before the transfer..........
Re: And another one goes to---
never quite understand why people make a big deal of former players going to spenny.
Isn't signing higher level players who are proven at that level good management from spenny and makes sense from a player point of view to stay as high as they can in the league pyramid.

Not all that strange, Bell is the Spennymoor Academy GK coach I believe and isn't expected to play much, if at all. Same scenario in a sense as Jim Provett with us really.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Natural choice to be honest to continue playing for a local team but as high as possible, Blyth and Whitby are a bit of a hike for players around this way.
