Songs for New tin shed
Songs for New tin shed
With lots of people going to cram in the tin shed at Blackwell I reckon we could here some old songs. Starter for ten "Walk on" with scarves?
Re: Songs for New tin shed
Whilst I agree we do need to create a good atmosphere, like there was at Harrogate last week, not too much nostalgia, please! Some of the chants would be meaningless to the younger generation such as:-darlodog wrote:With lots of people going to cram in the tin shed at Blackwell I reckon we could here some old songs. Said Joe Mercer to Bill Shankley,
Have you heard of the North Bank, Highbury?
No said Shanks, I don't think so
But I've heard of the Tin Shed Aggro
Some people would also like to bring back the old wooden rattles. Anyone carrying one these days would be done for having an offensive weapon!

Come all without,
Come all within,
Come to the Shed
And get your head kicked in.
Perhaps not quite politically correct these days.

How about coming up with a new piece of music for the team coming onto the pitch when we return to Darlo. I dont know much about music myself so unable to make any suggestions, but I am sure some of you fans will have plenty of ideas.

I remember reading here that the players themselves chose the music to come onto the pitch.meadowlark wrote:How about coming up with a new piece of music for the team coming onto the pitch when we return to Darlo. I remember a similar one, "1,2,3,4,5, if you wanna stay alive, keep out the Tin Shed". Probably dates to about 1985.joejaques wrote:Come all without,

For the first match at Blackwell Meadows, there can surely only be one contender:-meadowlark wrote:How about coming up with a new piece of music for the team coming onto the pitch when we return to Darlo. Definitely. Great Song, great group. One of my favorite groups, saw them twice at Reading and several times at Newcastle's City Hall.
I always use to say "We never left!" when it was played.
Which in a sense is true for the Darlo as, although we went to Bishop we all felt that we would always come "Back in Town"

Seriously, you need to let it go. Your obsession with me is unhealthy.darlodaz wrote:haha "come to the tin shed and get your head kicked in"

I think you secretly have a crush on me....
As for songs, is The Boys Are Back In Town not a little too obvious?
Cracking track, don't get me wrong.

Re: Songs for New tin shed
Family did a track called Hometown, but probs a bit quiet for an entry song.
Rory Gallagher's "Going To My Hometown" probably more likely. Get our drummer to check it out, easy enough to accompany I would think.

Re: Songs for New tin shed
Didn't there used to be a chant based on 'Do you want to be in my gang'?
Come on, come on...
Come on, come on...

Far better than Thin Lizzy.BUSHEAD wrote:Hello , by oasis.

I was at Finsbury Park for the opening night of Oasis' first comeback and they opened with that and the whole place was electric.

If our long awaited homecoming is to be December then how about "Driving Home for Christmas!" (By the way where does Chris Rea live these days I liked him?)
