Burgmier, Ravenhill, Kennedy, Purdie.

Definitely the best midfield unit we've had in my time watching darlo.

Pawel Abbott has to be the best individual talent I've seen in our shirt (supported darlo since about '03). That lob against grimsby when the keeper was basically stood on the line was sublime.

Speedie and Blake were absolute class going forward. Burgmeier is definitely one of the best midfielders we have ever had and along with Jason De Vos our only current internationals whilst wearing the Darlo shirt.

Looks like Pawel Abbott's done well for himself...Playing in the top Polish league?

Adrian Webster represented New Zealand while playing for us didn't he?

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Yes I think you're right, I had forgotten about him.

Pawel Abbot was ridiculously good - probably my favourite player post-Marco, but the fact that more than a few missed Gabbiadini out of their teams astonishes me - surely a player who used to salvage and/or win games practically on his own cannot be worse than 3 other DFC strikers.

With Marco, you never took your eyes off him when he had the ball because you could never be sure he wasn't going to score.

I got all excited when I thought I saw The Bald Messiah on the list, then it turned out just to be some bloke named Bryan.

"He's not the messiah", etc, etc...

David Currie, without doubt, the best player I have seen in a Darlo shirt. Alan Walsh, the best over a longer period. I also have a soft spot for Gary McDonald, who was fast becoming a superb number 9 until injury curtailed his career.

Fred Barber best keeper I've seen for us. Les McJannett and Paul Heckingbottom the full-backs, though also liked Peter Johnson, Ryan Valentine and Alan Kamara.

Gregan and Appleby for me at centre half, although Appleby was a superb sweeper, so could go three at the back, which would let Liddle in (mentions for Peter Skipper, Jimmy Willis, David Corner and Shelton Martis).

Currie, Gabbiadini, Walsh, Bannister, Abbott, McDonald, Blake, Speedie, Wainwright, Gaughan, Todd, Gill, Mardenborough, Maitland, Ndumbu-Nsungu - enjoyed watching all of these over the years. Hurts my head trying to pick from them.

As has been said, you can only chose players from your era. I'm 60y
Any side would have to have Tony moor in goals, and include John Peverell, Marco Gabbiadini, Lance Robson, Craig Liddell....

John Charles never played for Darlo, although Joe Jacques was a good player in his day. Happy now? ;)

Totally agree. I put him above gabbiadini as Currie didn't play alongside players as good as gabbiadini did.

I've seen all our goalkeepers since the early sixties and Tony Moor has to be our first choice. (With apologies to those who weren't around when he was). This guy just filled the goal with his presence and controlled the penalty area. It was the readers of this forum who voted him our best keeper two or three years ago. As someone pointed out, he caught balls with one hand, he caught balls instead of punching them, and - from someone else - the ultimate accolade: "it was always something of a surprise when anyone scored past him".
If only we'd had him this season.

Ecstatic, after your accolade, three points and a NAME CHANGE.
