Well proud of my team tonight as I said before I really think we are top 4 and possibly better not bad for a population of circa 40k crowd was 11,500 COYF

Equally as impressive Wigan beat Leigh in the Borough derby 20-0.

A number of Super League sides have been alerted to expressions of interest from cities in both England and abroad who want to inherit an existing top-flight franchise. The RFL is receptive to the idea and has told clubs they can apply to move their franchise to a different city should they wish

Re: Rugby League
There are some Super League sides that are poorly supported, especially Wakefield. But moving somewhere else wouldn't guarantee better crowds.

Re: Rugby League
Tough game in theory for Wigan tonight at Warrington. No doubt Warrington won't want to lose another one and we usually struggle to get results their.

Re: Rugby League
Well Wigan were fantastic last night. They seem to have a production line of youngsters that can step up from the junior ranks into the first team without any trouble. Liam Marshall was the latest in a long line of successes to make their debuts at a very young age and make a telling contribution to the team. It's a pity that our footie team doesn't display the same success with our youth policy.

Re: Rugby League
Great win for Salford yesterday at Widnes. Noticed that they're already flagging up the Wigan v Castleford game on Sky in early April. I still think that if Castleford pick up a few key injuries. Do you have the players in the squad to replace them? Time will tell.

Re: Rugby League
Wow Warrington lose their 6th game in a row, they'll struggle to get out of the bottom 4 at this rate. Great play by Leigh Centurions.

Re: Rugby League
Wigan really struggled today to beat Huddersfield and had to settle for a draw. At least they are now clear at the top after Castleford surprisingly lost at lowly Salford.

Re: Rugby League
would that be a lowly Huddersfield as well Pete ? No surprises in this league, perhaps Wigan ONLY drawing was a shock result ?

Re: Rugby League
Salford and Huddersfield before Sunday were level on the same number of points, although Salford were at home and Huddersfield were at Wigan. Listened to the Wigan game on the internet and they were very lucky to scrape a draw.

Re: Rugby League
Can't understand why Sky are covering the relegation 4 pointer St. Helens v Warrington, when Wigan who are top and playing third placed Hull.

Re: Rugby League
Good win for Cas, however the Catalan Dragons seem to be in free fall at the moment. Wigan nearly snatched victory from the jaws of defeat. Cas should have an easy game at home to Huddersfield. Wigan could struggle to overcome a resurgent Leeds and Hull should win at plum bottom Warrington.

Cracking win for Castleford tonight, but a disappointing loss for Wigan ahead of the clash between the two sides next Thursday.

Re: Rugby League
Well no surprise there Rob with that prediction! I guess you'll start as favourites for next week's game. Probably depends if we get a few bodies back from injury.robsraiders wrote:We march on and think we will win next week too PeteDarlo_Pete wrote:Cracking win for Castleford tonight, but a disappointing loss for Wigan ahead of the clash between the two sides next Thursday.

Re: Rugby League
So happy with Leeds form at the moment but also very very surprised!
It makes me think that the league isn't as strong as it used to be.
Still fancy Cas to come out on top

Re: Rugby League
Well played Castleford on beating Wigan tonight. Think the score slightly flattered Castleford. Write-off Wigan at your peril.

Totally agree Rob, in fact the scoreline flattered Wigan!robsraiders wrote:I don't think score flattered at all, easily best team and we are playing with great confidence
Cas look sooo good this season and are by far the best side in the league.
They seem to have the ability to turn the class on at will as they did last night after about 30 mins in the first half.

Re: Rugby League
Castleford and Salford both lose their Easter Monday games, Wigan, Hull and Leeds close the gap. It's beginning to look tight at the top of the Superleague.

Re: Rugby League
I see the big game this weekend is Castleford at home to Wigan on Saaturday. Wigan will be out for revenge that's for sure.

Great win for your lot, but I wouldn't celebrate too quickly, as a swallow doesn't make a summer.
