Match Thread Salford V DarlingtonFC

Post by Darlopartisan » Sat Aug 05, 2017 7:45 am

Well this is it, start of the new season, just hope we play well and can get something from the game.
Big misses today will be Turnbull, Thomson and Beck. It will be interesting to see who starts and how we line up.
Team to start. 433
Bartlett,
Marrs Collins Brown Ferguson,
Richards Syers Gillies,
Caton Fenwick Cartman,
Or if we go 442
Cartman to be replaced by Scott in the middle.

Very tough task with Burgess, Thommo, Beck and Turnbull missing so a draw would be a great result.

Turnbull is back from holiday although I'm not too sure if he will feature and Beck is hopeful to start. If he's unavailable I think Fenwick will replace him.

I think Gray will go 4-3-3 today, although it's almost impossible to predict the line-up given the recent transfer activity and Wheatley/Fewster to potentially come in.

Ah right, didn't realise Turnbull was back.

I would not risk Beck until he is fully fit, he is far to an important player to us.

Same for us unfortunately, will Salford even have 1 player that played us 3 months ago starting today?

That's why it's a good time to play them today. Salford will only get stronger as the season goes on.

Looks like Ferguson has moved up to midfield.

Coming through loud and clear on the radio. Obviously fans aren't confident today, as I'm the only one to predict an away win!!!

Darlo Fans Radio is now working intermittently again. 0-0 strong start by Salford, good to see Beck is fit enough to start, lets hope he hasn't been brought into the starting 11 too soon.

Darlo sound to be on top, as we are getting plenty of ball and some free-kicks in dangerous areas.

Is that 442 with Caton up front or 433 with Gillies and Caton either side of Beck?

Presumably we won't be seeing Cartman again.

First real chance of the game goes to Darlo, as Beck goes close.

I guess Cartman needs to be patient and if he isn't then he'll probably have to move to another club to get regular first team football.

Guess so, hope if he is to leave that we get some money for him. Not sure I'd let him go myself.
Come on Darlo!
