Re: Tonight's games
1,600 odd at FCUM tonight - by their standards that's a poor crowd.
I wonder if the unglamorous opposition was partly to blame, or maybe the FCUM fans are slowly losing interest? Perhaps some of them have jumped on the Salford bandwagon?

Re: Tonight's games
Went to a few FCUM games last season (being Manchester based) and their support is...weird to say the least. They don't really seem that arsed about the result with the majority of people there just wanting to watch some football. You always get a few wearing other teams shirts and many still support man Utd. Doubt they have so many fans that are willing to brave the rain.Quakerz wrote:1,600 odd at FCUM tonight - by their standards that's a poor crowd.

Re: Tonight's games
Their support jeer and chant against each other. The section behind the goal and in the main stand rarely sing together they they try to sing over each other.
They have nearly sold 1,000 season tickets but it does appear that the novelty is wearing off a bit. They have either been attracted by Salford or back to the mother ship because actually the press about the Glazer's isn't as loud anymore.

Exactly, they have no history and without history there is no future.lo36789 wrote:Their support jeer and chant against each other. The section behind the goal and in the main stand rarely sing together they they try to sing over each other.

This is why it was so important we got our name back.
Re: Tonight's games
What sort of crowd do people think would be a good one tonight, considering it's a midweek match?
I was hoping for 2,000 but I'm thinking that may be way too optimistic?
I was just looking at the archive on the official site and although I can't find the 16/17 archive, I can see the 15/16 archive and we kicked off our first home game on Wednesday 18th August 15 with a crowd of just 908! We also played at home on the Saturday following, in front of 1,243.
Just found the 16/17 archive on the National League site and our first home game was on a Saturday and the crowd was 1,436.

I'd be happy with 1600 I think.
Re: Tonight's games
Same, I think 1600+ tonight and around 2000 Saturday would be a good start

A lot jumped the united ship due to not winning every week.Going up the leagues bullying small clubs was more their thing.lo36789 wrote:Their support jeer and chant against each other. The section behind the goal and in the main stand rarely sing together they they try to sing over each other.

Suspect some have also become fed up with some of the things that have gone on such a Directors / Marketing Managers on huge money.1000 season tickets sounds good but they have more or less been given away.
To be honest I prefer Salford to this shower of shite,as much as I despise the Crass of 92 at least they are putting money in and not milking it under some poxy punk football banner.

Re: Tonight's games
Crowd of over 1600 was pretty decent, considering I think there were about 2 Gainsborough fans at the game.Quakerz wrote:What sort of crowd do people think would be a good one tonight, considering it's a midweek match?
