Roll on Tuesday night. Really looking forward to the York game, will be our biggest test so far.

How many supporters do you think will travel down for this one?

Have seen a bit of York over the past few months as my lad is a fan, to be honest they're not a great footballing side and more often than not resort to playing balls into the box for Jon Parkin who puts himself about a bit and causes defenders problems. They rested him today and played Rankine up front instead (similar player). They also possess a weapon in Sam Muggletons VERY long throws which they'll bring him on for in the second half if we're winning. If we run at their defence though I don't think they'll contain us

Watched him hit the bar twice in 5 minutes with that long throw!

Is an impressive throw, can reach the penalty area from the halfway line, but gets quite predictable and defenders are getting wise to it

Said before, but have lived in York for the last few years and having a season ticket holding mate I've seen a fair bit of them.

York have never been the best home side for whatever reason, and tend to struggle with the expectation. That said the forward of Parkin, Almond and Morgan-Smith are all a step above this level and capable of doing serious damage. Muggleton's throws have been mentioned but must be seen to be believed, Rory Delap-esque and a nightmare to defend. Wouldn't expect him to start though, Whittle is first choice with Muggleton on as a sub to mix up the approach.

Defensively they're sound enough but it's in the midfield where the problems are, often passing sideways and surrendering possession, struggling to impose themselves on the game. Moke has a bit of a temper in there and Heslop has been largely poor since he signed. The wing backs aren't the best either considering the manager loves a 3-5-2 or a 4-3-3.

For the fans I've spoken to this game is the yardstick of where they fit in this division.

Another massive Darlo turn-out at York would be great, especially if the game will attract many of the away turnout to Blackwell Meadows to see more.

In excess of a 1000 should make the trip down, after our impressive start to the season.

Surely in excess of 1000 could be 2000.

We only got 1500 at home on a Saturday.

I can't see that 2 out of 3 people who made it there on Saturday will trek to York on a mid week evening.

They'll be plenty going that don't attend BM on a regular basis.

That's a bit concerning isn't it. That people would rather shell out extra (train tickets) and pay money to our competitors / opponents than come to our own home games? That logic just feels backwards to me.

Do you know any who do this personally Pete?

The disappointing thing is Pete will be right, there will be people who travel down that dont bother with many games at BM, id expect 800-1000 down there tomorrow night

I reckon 800-850 will make the pilgrimage to deepest, darkest North Yorkshire...

It will be my dads first away game

6 of us on the 5.36pm train out of Darlington and then the 23.13pm train home.

Should be a good turn out and decent atmosphere.

Wasn't going tonight, but late change of plans mean 3 extra fans are going tonight. Good weather I'll be disappointed with under a 1000 Darlo fans making the trip.
