New Feethams residents complain about the noise next door

Post by Mr_Tibbs » Mon Aug 21, 2017 11:01 am

Bit of karma at play here? Must be people living where the tin shed was complaining about the noise from the cricket club.

Seems as though the cricket club have built an all-weather practice area there and have submitted a retrospective planning application for it, which residents on the land formerly occupied by the Feethams faithful are now objecting to because of the noise and antics of the players and people watching.

http://www.thenorthernecho.co.uk/news/l ... ver_noise/

The application has been recommended for approval by council officers with a number of conditions attached. The meeting takes place on Wednesday at 1.30pm in the town hall.

Of course it will be accepted.
They all have the same school tie...And it just wouldn't be cricket to turn the planning permission down.

People who moved in next to a cricket ground, shocked by cricket related sounds coming from the cricket ground.

Some people...

To be fair there were already some old knackered nets there anyway so it can hardly have been a surprise to the residents.

Absolutely no surprise whatsoever - people will always find something to moan about... just happy it's the cricket club suffering from the law of unintended consequences. They wanted houses built there - just not occupied by people who aren't there to watch the cricket.

Maybe just do it without the nets and see if the residents want them when cricket balls start coming through their windows.

Can't see how they can complain, what do they expect when they live next to a cricket ground?

The sound of cork on willow? The sipping of Pimms? It's a long time since I watched Joel Garner at Glastonbury for Somerset-have things changed that much?

I went to the Oval last week and they were letting off fireworks!

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Oh dear it has made the national news now having featured on Radio 4's 8am headlines today. Ridiculing the residents.
Shock horror even cricketers dropping their trousers.

To be fair, they need ridiculing big style. Buy a house near a cricket ground, occasionally hear a game of cricket being played...

It's not as if cricket is played overnight either, when you want some silence for your kip.

Just as well that they're not next to a speedway stadium.

To be fair, the cricket ground has only been there since 1866. It practically shot up overnight.

Do they have rubber letter-boxes so the postman doesn't disturb their slumbers?

I thought it was better than that, weren't they the former owners/operators of the circuit, and owned a house next door to it.

They got bought out / taken over in acrimonious circumstances and then made a noise objection?
