New manager poll
New manager poll
Just a bit of fun because I don't know who would be a realistic target for us, who would be interested in the job etc etc.
I'm just putting in a few names that have been bandied about, who would you have?
PS no Jason Ainsley, as I think he'd struggle on the lower budget at Darlo, and consequently wouldn't be interested

Come on, you know you want me... my CV is already laid bare.... although, to be honest, even I didn't vote for me.

Re: New manager poll
I know he has connections with pools but what about Sam Collins. Seemed to do ok a couple of times he was caretaker and I know there fans respected him
Re: New manager poll
Is that the same reason Martin Gray isn't one of the options?Quakerz wrote:

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: New manager poll
I went for Ronnie Moore - loads of contacts and seems to have done well wherever he's been, save his last few months at Hartlepool but you can't put lipstick on a pig, and Pools were in meltdown when he took over... did well to keep them up.
He had a good manner about him in the interviews I saw, and I think he'd do well with our players.
Not sure where he lives or how much he would cost - that's probably against him.
Probably Chris Hardy after that.

Re: New manager poll
You sure you voted for Ronnie Moore?
Re: New manager poll
So far my Darlo vision, achievements, team selection and tactics are a bit thin on the ground but I'm toying with the idea of free beer for everyone.

I added a couple more names to the poll a few minutes ago and it wiped everybodies votesMr_Tibbs wrote:Yep, but after I edited my post and went back my vote was gone. Just voted for him again.Quakerz wrote:You sure you voted for Ronnie Moore?

Poor LoidLucan was up to about 300.
Re: New manager poll
Doesn't matter, I'm still way ahead of some big names... well all right, one ahead.

Re: New manager poll
Anybody but Craig Hignett well not anybody obviously, just think it would not be the right move for us, Chis Hardy for me

You missed out four times a Quaker?
Re: New manager poll
Aaah, shite...
I'm not adding any more names because it'll wipe all the votes from the poll.

I'll build a wall between us and Hartlepool and make them pay for it.LoidLucan wrote:So far my Darlo vision, achievements, team selection and tactics are a bit thin on the ground but I'm toying with the idea of free beer for everyone.
Vote for spyman!

Re: New manager poll
You were down as first choice keeper but voting patterns in the poll (ie you didnt vote for me) suggest I may have to reconsider.

Re: New manager poll
Not sure of his contract situation but Mark Bower has been promoted from this league before and is doing a decent job with bradford pa. He would be my pick.
Notable mentions for Chris Hardy seemingly doing very well with not a lot of resource at Whitby and Ronnie More great connections all across the game old school manager always came across very well as pools boss in a very difficult time.

Re: New manager poll
I voted for Hardy but I'd want to know:
1. Would we have to pay Whitby and how much
2. I'd like to see who's applied before making a final decision

Re: New manager poll
It was said that Hardy's contract runs out next year, so that could be January (he joined Whitby in December 15)
It might not cost us much in compensation if he only has 2 or 3 months left and he's not going to be on a lot of money at Whitby...
I voted Hardy in this poll, but I see Whitby are midtable this season so maybe he's not the miracle worker that everyone thinks he is?
I'm surprised that Alun Armstrong has hardly got any votes as he's doing a great job at Blyth and they don't have a huge budget. They have some very good players, Dale, Maguire, Rivers, Buddle etc..

Bower on paper looks a great candidate, did excellently at Guiseley and has really turned BPA around

Re: New manager poll
Some nice names, but if we are asking for CVs rather than approaching managers then I think our shortlist is primarily going to be composed of out of work managers.
Also, I guess it will be a part-time role, so would someone like Ronnie Moore be prepared to work on part-time wages?
