Interesting to read these comments from Yorks fans:

"So we now have 3 left backs but only one right back who is injured."

"Central defence is where we need to strengthen."

Welcome to the head-scratching world of MG signings this season.

Ferguson is better as a left winger though, to be fair.

I'm not *that* upset about him going either. He's not looked fully fit this year, and him going will give us a chance to change our style of play up a bit. Keep it on the deck and hopefully get the most out of Gillies and Thompson.
Rankine has a lot of injuries so at least Beck would be cover.

If he fails that medical he should be transfer listed as we dont want people who dont want to play for us and hopefully someone else may come in and he chooses them over york!!
harsh. he wants full-time football so you can't really blame him. It's no reflection on Darlo just a fact of footballing life. I'd have him back. Decent footballer and has always given his all.

Thanks. I wish I could bring myself to say the same - nothing personal against York, who I've always had a soft spot for, but I'd love to see Gray fail.

Its looking increasingly like York will not be taking a leap of faith on MB fitness. Even less so on MG say so. Oh dear judgement issues right at the start Martin. MB ask the messiah what now

A medical should be looking for underlying health issues and general health/capacity not messed up by an injury. I can't see how MB current injury which was contact driven could prevent him passing a medical.

In the netcafe, it says we knocked back an offer. He can't have a medical if we haven't agreed terms.

Looks like the club holding out for more money. Good.

Don't believe we are looking for more money, so take your pick on the reason he hasn't signed yet.

Issues with medical, Beck being available has alerted others or Beck trying to get a better contract are main options for me.

Hopefully Beck squeezes every penny he can out of Gray's playing budget.

Perhaps he's after a release clause?

I feel this is a massive loss. I don't know the man, and don't even know what he looks like, but I'd buy him a beer for what he's helped achieve over the past few years. He was the person who advised which players to sign to produce a league winning team in the fortnight or so before the Northern League kicked off and, until this season, almost every signing had a positive impact. I believe it's hard to underestimate the impact he has had over the past few years.

Do the filed accounts have a heading for transfer fees?

IIRC the club are only required to file abbreviated accounts which do not show enough detail to enable this to be determined
Wrong Spen the last published accounts as at 30/06/2016 show
Transfer fees received £11,583 (though naturally this does not give any players names)
Accounts also show Signing on Fess £24,000 (although not clear, this appears to relate to Transfer fees paid out, though I am not sure why the terminology is not consistent). A good question for the November AGM? Again naturally this does not give any players names.
So we will have to wait till November 2018 AGM for details of any Transfer income this financial year.

Correct in last years accounts transfer fees/signing fees were on a row on their own, so you could see and then generally guess what they were.

Hopefully last years will be as clear at the AGM and then we will need to wait to 2018 as you say to see these ones in the accounts.

Club don't have to display them but fan owned it makes sense and well after the sale so shouldn't then affect us when trying to sign anyone by that point.
