Unbelievable lack of transfer activity by the new management duo

Re: Come on Browny make your first signing
Don't think he will sign for us, 1 month load wouldn't be a bad thing for us but long term not really.
Probably not see any signings until we appoint the new manager.

Re: Come on Browny make your first signing
If we're bringing back former players then Number One should be Amar Purewal
Re: Come on Browny make your first signing

Did not realise he had moved, could never understand why Cooper did not give him a chance here.Same with Gray and Dale Hopson, always rated this lad yet Gray let him go and look how many goals he has got this season.shawry wrote:He is at Portsmouth. Re: Come on Browny make your first signing
I just don't think he scores enough goals his best return is about 1 in 5 in one season. Unless he doesn't play as a striker anymore I'd say it's just not good enough really.QUAKERMAN2 wrote:Did not realise he had moved, could never understand why Cooper did not give him a chance here.Same with Gray and Dale Hopson, always rated this lad yet Gray let him go and look how many goals he has got this season.shawry wrote:He is at Portsmouth. He clearly has something about him though as he is still in full time football.

I'd love to see Amar back, and sticking them in past York.

Re: Come on Browny make your first signing
It’s mad how Steve Staunton said Curtis Main didn’t have a future in the game, then signs for Boro.
Re: Come on Browny make your first signing
It was Mark Cooper, not Staunton, who got rid of Main

Re: Come on Browny make your first signing
Curtis Main tweeted a few years back when Steve Staunton was on Soccer AM saying he said that to him

Re: Come on Browny make your first signing
In fairness to DarloJohn99, he didn't say Staunton got rid of him. Just that he told Main didn't think he had a future.loan_star wrote:It was Mark Cooper, not Staunton, who got rid of Main
That was leading football expert Steve Staunton.
Re: Come on Browny make your first signing
The Staunton era was the only time I actually stopped attending. Part of the reason was his constant barrage of criticism of the young players during matches. It was difficult to watch.
Re: Come on Browny make your first signing
Staunton's style of management was never to boost young players, hence all the poor team performances and those with talent and gumption got up and left thus the team declined. Unfortunately, Darlo fans are often quick to criticise and slow to support the lads on the pitch. It is too easy to slag off players and/ or managers from the terraces, but as fans we are hardly ever in possession of the true facts and have not been given explanations of decisions. As a fans owned club, and especially now there is the web and social media this could easily be remedied by giving fans more information.
I understand that for tactical reasons, there may be times when say the fitness of some players is not 100% and that becomes obvious during matches, so you as manager do not want to disclose this to the opposition, however this should not be taken as excuse for telling us nearly nothing. let's hope the new regime will be more forthcoming than Gray's and that the crowd get behind and support the lads who have chosen to stay.
