Re: Mark Bell leaves
Makes sense really, particularly as Adam is a goalkeeping coach anyway, frees up some wages also.

Re: Mark Bell leaves
The club terminated his contract, not him asking to leave. Strange decision given a new manager may feel him necessary?

http://darlingtonfootballclub.co.uk/mar ... s-quakers/Darlington Fc would like to confirm that we have cancelled the contract of goalkeeper and goalkeeping coach Mark Bell at his request.
Are you saying the club are lying? If so, what is your basis for saying club are lying?

Andy Collet the current keeper coach at York. Perhaps feeling vulnerable as today he invites the press to watch the current YC keeper go through their paces.

Our weekly wage bill must have dropped a fair bit since gray walked away. Cant imagine we'll have the same number of backroom staff as we move forward.
Re: Mark Bell leaves
I believe Bell's departure signals that you are in the running for Manager's job. You did say I was getting the GK Coach job if you were successful, didn't you?LoidLucan wrote:Our weekly wage bill must have dropped a fair bit since gray walked away. Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Mark Bell leaves
Another member of the backroom staff, Brad Blythe, has also departed the club today.
By my reckoning that's only the physio (Jimmy Nesbitt) and kit-man (Gary Smith) left now with the joint-managers after the departures of Gray, Atkinson, Gregan, Dunn & Bell.

Of course the club would not HAVE to cancel his contact if he wanted to leave. A footballer signs a fixed term deal. He has no right to leave during that period.
That is the whole point of a fixed term contract. Both parties are tied to it unless they both agree to vary it. There is no obligation on either party to agree to vary the contract

What else does Brad Blythe do? I see he's a coach at MGFA?

Re: Mark Bell leaves
The backroom staff that Gray assembled was way over the top.How can you warrant a goalkeeping coach at our level and god knows what this Brad Blyth guy did.As Lucan said, the club must be saving a fair bit so it is set up nicely for the new manager to come in and put his own staff in place.

Re: Mark Bell leaves
I thought it was Bradley Blythe, Kit Manager, Gary Smith, Assistant Kit Manager, and Jimmy Nesbitt, Sports Therapist.

Add to that MG and his 2 Assistants, admittedly these were all part-time appointments, but surely there was no justification for all of them. Hope the new Manager makes any appointments based on our needs not to feed his ego.QUAKERMAN2 wrote:The backroom staff that Gray assembled was way over the top.How can you warrant a goalkeeping coach at our level and god knows what this Brad Blyth guy did.As Lucan said, the club must be saving a fair bit so it is set up nicely for the new manager to come in and put his own staff in place.

This, we didn't need so many backroom staff for a PT club, we must have saved quite a bit of wages as Quakerman2 says above.bga wrote:Add to that MG and his 2 Assistants, admittedly these were all part-time appointments, but surely there was no justification for all of them. Re: Mark Bell leaves
Certainly gives the new manager scope to bring their own backroom staff in.

BradleyBlythe was apparently our Assistant Kit Manager. It's like on the film credits when you think....what do they do? I'm almost lost for words.
