Styche is our new striker!

That's what a lot of people reckon.

Hope so anyway!

Nuneaton fans are saying that striker Callum Ball has left the club.

Could HE be our man?

He lives in Leicester, previously played under Wright at Croby too. He's a strong, powerful striker but his goal scoring record is questionable.

Leicester - there's your 4th man for the car share.

Browny is also following Styche on Twitter. Could be something in it.

Ball got 17 last season at Barwell in the NPL.

That said, I would be happier with Styche.

I read Craig's hints in the Echo to mean that the striker who has previously played under Wright wasn't at the same club as the 2 other targets (who who are at the same club, and have turned out to be Trotman and Mils). So I'd be surprised if it was a 3rd player from Nuneaton, but then I could be wrong

Unless of course that was TW's first choice striker who has subsequently turned us down so he's gone for plan B

We are led to believe that the striker in question handed in a transfer request - that could well result in a cancellation of a contract.

Wonder if any of them would relocate or just keep travelling I suppose it depends if they are renting or have bought a place

Could be wrong, but surely at which point you would hold out for some kind of fee - if anything - especially if you know there is interest from a league rival that have recently sold 3 players.

Yeah I get where you're coming from but I have seen that type of thing happen before even if it does sound odd.

Doing a bit more digging it looks and sounds as though he's a bit out of shape - Nuneaton fans less than complimentary and hasn't played much of a part so far this season so he could well have just left to try and find football elsewhere (other than here)

TW was very complimentary about him when he signed but seems it's an issue getting him into some short of match condition

Styche only played 3 games for Nuneaton on loan didn't particularly seem fussy about linking up with Wright on a permanent basis either as he joined Tamworth.

Tamworth I can imagine will not be in a hurry to part with Styche and certainly not on the cheap!

If there is a chauffeur service from Leicester, could someone sound out Mr J Vardy? He has played at our level and shown he is capable of scoring well at a higher league but having a slack season at the moment so maybe ready for a change. ;)

To be fair, Callum Ball does look built for scoring tries rather than goals

Surely if he puts the ball in the back of the net, that's all that counts?... ;)

Tamworth are hesitatant in letting their top marksman go. Told he's contracted until the end of the season so I suppose it's down to Tamworth in that do they cash in now or let him leave on a free in the summer.

Because Styche decided to go part-time, as opposed to joining full-time Nuneaton.
