Re: Rugby League
So we should be, I don't think they've ever beaten us at Rugby League.

Re: Rugby League
England were far from convincing against a poor side, even though they won 36-6. Their next game against Papua New Guinea in the quarter final in Melbourne this coming Sunday morning will be a much tougher proposition than the French.

Re: Rugby League
Pete, I don't disagree with you but a win is a win, and it was run out for some of the squad who are not first choice. We shall see what happens against stronger opposition.

Re: Rugby League
Yes a win is a win, but I'd hope we'd have put up a far more convincing performance against a clearly weaker side. If we don't improve on Sunday, then there is a clear risk that we could be eliminated.

Re: Rugby League
Fiji spring the surprise of the tournament so far, as they knock New Zealand out at the quarter final stage 4-2. Bet that was a thriller, sounds more like a footie score than a rugby league score. The 3 semi finalists so far are Fiji, Tonga and Australia.

Re: Rugby League
Well a win is a win, but again we were far from convincing, as we beat Papua New Guinea 36-6. On to Tonga next weekend.

The semi-final is on Saturday morning 5am kick-off from Auckland against Tonga. Think I'll record it and watch it live a little later.

Re: Rugby League
England squeak past Tinga 20-18 in a far from convincing display. They face Australia in next weeks final.

Re: Rugby League
Pete, I wasn't watching them play Tinga but did see them comfortably beat Tonga apart from the last 5 minutes of madness. England are in the final, so cheer up you grumpy so and so!

Re: Rugby League
Well definitely underwhelmed by the final, as Aussies win 6-0. Sounds more like a footie score than a rugby score. Not very exciting.

Eh?! The final was genuinely superb.Darlo_Pete wrote:Well definitely underwhelmed by the final, as Aussies win 6-0. Sounds more like a footie score than a rugby score. Not very exciting.

Beano, I don't believe Pete watched the game. I fact he can't have done just because of his 'not very exciting' comment.

Great move to have the Championship game between Toronto and Toulouse on at the start of the magic weekend.

Re: Rugby League
Well the Super League starts this week, with reigning champions Leeds visiting Warrington. I think the Championship will be exciting with the addition of the Toronto Wolfpack.

Re: Rugby League
Bit of a shocker as Castleford get thumped by St Helens in the first round.

Re: Rugby League
What a brave decision by Wigan to play a home game in Australia. It was fantastic to see Hull and Wigan take a superleague game to the other side of the world and to see the thousands and thousands of fans that made the trip over. Well done to Wigan on winning a close fought game in front of over 12000.

Rhinos v Cas, what a game. Almost loved every minute, even though we lost.
Shame Luke Gale is such a C@nt.

Re: Rugby League
Yeh COD watched the game and it was a great advertisement for RL. Crowd at Elland Road was tremendous. Big clash on Good Friday as St. Helens plays Wigan, can't wait for that one.

I can see why you think that but also think you’ll understand why I think like I do.robsraiders wrote:Classy Cas will be a force again this year, top 4 for defo and Luke Gale is God
Yeh Cas weren’t as ‘pretty’ but they got the result.........just!

Re: Rugby League
I can't see Castleford dominating the Superleague like season, but a top 4 should not be beyond them. I see the top 4 as Wigan, St Helens, Leeds and Castleford.comeondarlo wrote:I can’t see why you think that but also think you’ll understand why I think like I do.robsraiders wrote:Classy Cas will be a force again this year, top 4 for defo and Luke Gale is God

Re: Rugby League
I was just saying that the weather was the winner on Thursday, stopped both teams playing. The St Helens v Wigan game wasn't a classic and St Helens deserved their win.

Re: Rugby League
Interesting to see Toulouse and Toronto are first and second in the Championship. I think whoever ends up in the bottom 4 in the Superleague, will have a real struggle to keep their Superleague status. Plus the London Bronco's could be another threat.

Great fight back by Wigan on Saturday at Catalan, as they keep the pressure on St Helens.

Massive game tonight between Wigan and Castleford for bragging rights tomorrow.
