Hows the weather up there? And do we still have the pitch covers?

Re: Game V Salford
It hasn't been too bad this week, due some rain on Thursday apparently.
Other than that, I am confident the game will go ahead.

Re: Game V Salford
Looks colder Friday and Saturday. We're forecast snow here in the west mids. Rare chance to make a home game this weekend so really hoping it's on.

Re: Game V Salford
I think given the forecast, there must be some doubt about the match going ahead.

Re: Game V Salford
If pitch is not covered from Thursday would be quite hard given the overnight forecast Thursday/fri nights

Re: Game V Salford
I would take a severe frost to make the ground hard considering there is a lot of give in it at the momentdarlo reborn wrote:If pitch is not covered from Thursday would be quite hard given the overnight forecast Thursday/fri nights

Max of 2 degrees on Saturday, won't thaw out bits that aren't covered or parts of the pitch that are shaded by the stands.

I don;t quite understand what you mean by "won't thaw out bits that aren't covered" PeteDarlo_Pete wrote:Max of 2 degrees on Saturday, won't thaw out bits that aren't covered or parts of the pitch that are shaded by the stands.
From what I have seen on the forcast, temperatures will drop to 0 on Friday night but not expecting a frost that will need to thaw... Unless of course you know different.
You panic every December and January wher it gets colder...I would start to worry about it on maybe Thursday or Friday if a frost has been predicted.. But never on a Tuesday before a Saturday game.

Well on the subject of the game, I'll be bringing +1 more who doesn't normally attend.
Hopefully we can get close to 1700 in.

Sal£ord will bring a taxi full
Re: Game V Salford
It's going to be pretty windy and that usually stops hard frost from forming.
Biggest danger is a rogue shower dropping some snow.

Re: Game V Salford
Where will the BBC cameras be? Will the league allow them in then insist on having broadcast rights?
Seriously, I just hope that TW & AW have had time to sort out the defence and that the lads are all up for it. A win against Salford could just be the tipping point for our season, therefore the Darlo fans must get behind the team and be supportive for the whole 90+ minutes.

Re: Game V Salford
A low of -1 but sunny all day so should be on.
Re: Game V Salford
A low of -1 is enough for a hard frost and once you're at this time of year the sun has zero impact on frost.
However, the forecast is for it to be windy, and that should prevent a frost forming, even at temperatures just below zero.

Re: Game V Salford
There might be snow this afternoon, which could be another problem, but it may protect the pitch from any frost.

Are we having to segregate the ground again for their 40 traveling drama queens?

Re: Game V Salford
So wonder team we'll have out tomorrow.
Will Talbot be in goal instead of Ed?
Will Wheatley be back in the starting 11.
Who will partner Styche up front..
Looking forward to this game to be honest, come on Darlo.

Just read the Echo preview and that says Talbot is likely line to start ahead of Ed
