Darlington FC V Salford
So next up Salford, they’re going through a bit of a wobble at the moment , I expect they will dominate possession much as Harrogate did at their place, wobble or not I think they will be to strong for us , the win at their place at the beginning of the season will mean absolutely nothing, heart says a point would be great, head says no chance

Re: Darlington FC V Salford p
You might want to edit the subject, as the p. could make it look like the game has been postponed. I agree I'd settle for a point at this stage. They've been going through a rough patch, so no doubt they'll be coming out flying trying to get revenge for the first game of the season.Darlopartisan wrote:So next up Salford, they’re going through a bit of a wobble at the moment , I expect they will dominate possession much as Harrogate did at their place, wobble or not I think they will be to strong for us , the win at their place at the beginning of the season will mean absolutely nothing, heart says a point would be great, head says no chance

TW has already said he is going 343. Im presuming Collins will be 'fit' to start.poppyfield wrote:Team from York game, What changes would you make? A lot depends on whether Collins is fit, assuming he is.

If not it could be an interesting line up and I suspect players not playing in there regular positions.

Why would you let the opposition know how you were going to set up before the game?BaronsCourtQuaker wrote:TW has already said he is going 343. Maybe TW has a cunning plan.
Re: Darlington FC V Salford
Wonder if Trotman is yet fit to play if Collins isn't? Then if Tommy is going to stick with 3-4-3 we could line up:
------------------------------------ Talbot --------------------------------------
------------------ Brown --------- Heaton --------- Galbraith -----------------
Trotman ----------------- Turnbull ------- Wheatley --------------- Thompson
------------------ Mills ----------------------------------- Syers ----------------
------------------------------------ Styche --------------------------------------
Subs: Marrs, Portas, Scott, Gillies, Saunders
Could change Syers for Saunders or Mills for Gillies.

Re: Darlington FC V Salford
Trouble with Thompson and Gillies in the same team is both like to play with the ball, not so urgent when we don’t have it

Re: Darlington FC V Salford
Collins off injured... Again.
Re: Darlington FC V Salford
Dom Collins off injured apparently a hamstring injury. Tom Portas on in his place. may now have changed to a 4-4-2.
We have to stop playing Collins. We're going to crock the poor lad at this rate. Is it time to call back Vaulks and give him a go if Tommy wants to play 3 at the back?

If its a hamstring injury then we won't have to think about not playing him, he'll probably be out for 6 weeks.JE93 wrote:Dom Collins off injured apparently a hamstring injury. Tom Portas on in his place. may now have changed to a 4-4-2.

I was all for giving TW a chance but it really feels like we're going backwards now. Same mistakes every game.

Re: Darlington FC V Salford
Salford were utter garbage. Unfortunately we're not good enough to compete with that. We are screwed.
"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

AAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
we are going down. A crucial point thrown away via utter stupidity.
