Happy Noel Whelan Hamstrings Day

Post by BUSHEAD » Fri Jan 26, 2018 7:18 am

On this day in 2010 , Noel Whelan came on as Sub for Darlo at the arena.

The rest is history !

If there was a funnier Arena moment (barring Gazza in the fundraising game & possibly Chris brass ) then I can’t remember it .

Although slightly comical, I did have a bit of sympathy for him. Called on more in desperation by Staunton, but clearly out of shape and past it.

Couldn't have been much more than 10mins, maybe less.

From the Northern Echo back then ...

NOEL WHELAN was said to be devastated after his four month wait for first team football lasted less than two minutes of Tuesday’s defeat to Northampton Town.
