Think it will look good when finished and should improve things, although don't think it will resolve all issues it's a good step in the right direction.

I presume they are going to join in the middle. Can anyone confirm?

Not 100% certain but I believe so yes and also if it's a mirror image stand then it has to as the old stand has 7 steel posts whilst the new part has 6 so it would need to join up to fit the seats in.

Yeah, it should just appear to be one stand. There is an artists impression out there, somewhere.

I think this is a massive help tbh. It'll just alleviate a little pressure on the hard standing areas, especially when there is segregation in place.

Its another huge step forward for the club and everyone who’s chipped in should be very proud once it’s completed !

Great to see it being put up - will improve things somewhat.

Also hopefully it makes BM look a bit more like a proper football ground!

Will it entice the wusses to come down on a rainy day now that there's cover for around 1800 people?

We were already fine for promotion from the Evostick... ;)

Hehehe, indeed, but I was hoping Pete meant we were going to stay up this season.

I hope we can too, it would be a shame to take a step back but IF we do it will be one less thing to worry about, when we return.

It just looks so much bigger / better. That other one just seems very open and exposed on its own.

Artists impression on the clubs twitter account;

Another one on this link

http://darlingtonfootballclub.co.uk/do- ... ted-stand/

Should look decent when it's finished based on those

Good to see 3 (of the 6 according to the artist impressions) of the advertising boards are already gone too

That's looks pretty good, far better than I was expecting. Let's hope we can fill it.

It just makes it seem a little less barren? Obviously a long way to go, but it just looks to be a huge improvement for me. Also the improved views and cover will be invaluable. It’d be great to have similar at the empty end one day soon.

Not sure I get all of the outpouring of love for the stand TBH. It's not a thing of beauty and the best that can be said about it is that it serves a purpose.

But what were you expecting?

We knew it was going to be the same stand - doubled. The stand is exactly as I expected, neither better nor worse.

Maybe you were expecting a tent containing a few deckchairs to be erected next to the original stand, or something?

Probably shows how much we want a better ground really and it does look like it will make the ground a lot better.

If I am honest the current ground is poor for what we are used to, this is as expected considering we had nothing and had to pay for it ourselves. So any improvement has a bit more of an emotional feeling than it would if some millionaire was paying for it (although this would be nice also).

Can we get that board in the middle to read 'HOME OF DARLINGTON FC'?

It's not a great stand by any stretch of the imagination (oh how I long for a stand like the new East stand at Feethams), but it's all relative. Compared to the original stand, the new stand will improve the view for some more attendees. And also BM will presumably look a bit more like a football ground and a bit less like a field.

Why not if we club together and pay for it.

I'll only be happy when a Hesceelator is factored into the plans, plus a club crest on the taps in the bogs :D

Would a scaffold tower with cabin not be feasible on that side of the ground to accommodate the Darlo media crew . Get them off the balcony and provide better facilities .

Good idea, it would be great if a local scaffolding would erect it free of charge then they could use it to advertise their company, just a thought.

Gantry has been looked into but there are a lot of potential issues to overcome from a H&S perspective depending on how it’s built
