Pity he didn't show that form when he played for us!hall0a6 wrote:Ex-Darlo player left Portsmouth in January to make the move north to Motherwell.

He was only 18/19 years old when Darlo released him. He’s gone on and had a half decent career since then.Darlo_Pete wrote:Pity he didn't show that form when he played for us!hall0a6 wrote:Ex-Darlo player left Portsmouth in January to make the move north to Motherwell.

It was Mark Cooper who let him go I think.Dont think we even got a fee for him.

You certainly don't like the lad do you Pete.. When he left he was always going to be a good prospect and Boro were the right team to do that at the time...Darlo_Pete wrote:Pity he didn't show that form when he played for us!hall0a6 wrote:Ex-Darlo player left Portsmouth in January to make the move north to Motherwell.

Not really Harry, couldn't score if his life depended on it, I was amazed when Boro took him on. Didn't we release him?HarrytheQuaker wrote:You certainly don't like the lad do you Pete.. I was amazed when Boro took him on, but who's been proved right and who's been proved wrong?
Curtis was an early starter and a late developer - he's done well for himself.

Re: Curtis Main
It never happens when a club release a player and a club from a higher league takes him on. Curtis Main was very lucky, but I guess you make your own luck.
Re: Curtis Main
You clearly have a gripe with the lad. The fact a higher and much bigger club took him on can only reflect well on the player and poorly on the club that released them.Darlo_Pete wrote:It never happens when a club release a player and a club from a higher league takes him on. There are clearly other factors to be considered, inc budgets and restrictions at one club, while the other has a great history of developing young talent. However regardless of how it’s dressed up, the lads gone on to well and good on him I’d say.

Re: Curtis Main
4 in 5 looks good - it's better than 0 in 5 but.....
1 goal in a defeat against hibs
1 horrific goal mouth scramble goal that could've gone in against anyone v Hearts (a game in which he did diddly squat)
and 2 more against Ross County and Hamilton? I think - both teams who really are utter gash.
Fair play to Main, if he can secure a move to Motherwell, he'll get to play a few games in front of 18,000 crowds v Hearts & Hibs, 35-50,000 in front of the Ugly Sisters.
Better than mucking about in League 1 turning out in front of a few thousand at spotland, gig lane etc
