My picks to go down, Telford, Gainsborough and North Ferriby.
No change today as no one in the bottom half of the table played today.

Salford;
Southport P-P Salford; No game today;

Harrogate;
Harrogate 5-1 Blyth; Harrogate got off to a good start leading 2-0 before Blyth scored, Harrogate made it 3-1 before half time. Two more goals were added in the second half for a very comfortable 5-1 win. Harrogate now trail Salford by 3 points with both teams having 5 games to play.

Brackley;
Kidderminster 2-1 Brackley; Brackley looked to have survived a tough game with three points when they opened the scoring in the 81st min. Kidder replied with two goals within 7 mins to win the three points for themselves.

Kidderminster;
Kidderminster 2-1 Brackley; Kidderminster were the slightly better team today but fell behind in the 81st min. They replied with goals in the 83rd and 88th min to win the game. With York not playing, Kidder are back in 4th place above York, leading by 2 points with superior goal difference (20 to 10), both teams have six games to play.

York;
FCUM P-P York; No game today, York go back to 5th place after Kidder’s win. With both teams having six games to go in the season, York trails by two points and inferior goal difference (10 to 20).

Stockport;
Stockport P-P Tamworth; No game today, Stockport remain in 6th place despite not playing, they still lead 8th place Blyth by 3 points, both teams have seven games to play, Stockport’s goal difference is superior (15 to 9). Spennymoor in 7th place trail Stockport by one point, Spenny has three games in hand.

Spennymoor;
Spennymoor P-P Darlington; Spenny remain in 7th place, Blyth lost their game and stay two points behind them in 8th place.

Blyth;
Harrogate 5-1 Blyth; A bad day for Blyth who trailed 1-3 at half time on the way to a 1-5 thrashing. Stockport remain three points in front of Blyth, both teams with seven games to play, Chorley’s win today means they are tied on points and goal difference (also seven games to play), Blyth retain 8th place on goals scored in the race for a playoff place.

Chorley;
Chorley 2-0 Bradford; Chorley were the better team today, scoring in the 44th and 51st min to win 2-0. The win improves Chorley’s chances of a playoff berth, they are still in 9th place, 6th place Stockport are now 3 points in front, 8th place Blyth are tied with them, and lead on goals scored as the goal difference is tied. It looks a 2 horse race for automatic promotion, as Brackley perhaps with their eyes on Wembley have gone off the boil. Plus Blyth and Spennymoor seem determined to miss out on the play-offs, which is fine with me, as we'd have 2 local derbies again next season.

Heard an interview with Alun Armstrong after Blyth's hammering by Harrogate and he was accusing his side of "schoolboy defending." He came across as just fed up to the back teeth of everything and at the end of his tether.

He said: "Their contracts are up at the end of the season as well as mine. They're fighting for their jobs. Threadbare squad, injuries upon injuries. Also we haven't got the facilities to do a lot of work. Because of the rain we haven't been able to do a lot of work. We've been working on a seven-a-side pitch and it's quite tough."

He didn't sound happy with his lot at all. I think they will just slip out of the play-off picture now. In reality they've done very well this season to be where they are at this stage but there doesn't seem to much of a positive vibe around the place.

Was hoping they would pip York to the playoffs but they are in freefall and looking poor at the back.On reflection not too disappointed he did not pursue the Darlo vacancy ahead of Tommy, seems to be too critical of his players when they fail to win games and looks like we could finish ahead of them.

Blyth don't have the support or a rich benefactor to be able to support Conference football, I think for now that have found their level.

Latest score

Stockport 3 Tamworth 1

Tamworth in big trouble if Telford and Gainsborough can muster some points.

I'm hoping Gainsborough can muster enough points so Telford and Tamworth go through the trap door. Prefer an away day in Lincolnshire.

Stockport 3 Tamworth 2 was the final score.

So if Salford win the league, you would say Harrogate, Brackley, Kidderminster and probably Stockport will make the play offs.

This will leave 2 places for York, Spenny, Blyth & Chorley. If I had to guess then York and Spenny will make it as well. Be interesting to watch from afar, if I was being selfish in terms of away trips then Brackley can go up and get out of the way in the playoffs, leaving everyone else down in NLN for next season.

If Torquay survive and Barrow drop then Brackley will be moved across to South anyway I would assume - could be 4 Northern teams dropping from Conference.

Chester, Guiseley are all but down.

Full expect Barrow to join them too.

Chester & Guiseley are gone but it could easily by Woking and Torquay relegated and then we only get two up from Northern Premier so we are looking for another team whilst also keeping Brackley if they don't go up.

Southern Premier Hereford will go up, could they be dropped in the North and in the playoffs you have Kings Lynn.

I guess Gloucester could be moved back across to the Northern section.

I know there's always a problem allocating teams to NLN and NLS given the preponderance of southern clubs at that level but putting Gloucester back in NLN is just insanity, so I hope you're wrong super_les. It's further south than Brackley ffs. I don't pretend to have the answer, but there's got to be a better one than that. King's Lynn into NLN, if they get promoted? Of course it's all academic until we know who's going up and down anyway.

There is a possibility, if Torquay get out of it, that all four relegated teams could wind up in the NLN (if those four are Barrow, Guiseley, Chester and Solihull).

Would at least save the ridiculous idea of Kings Lynn or Hereford being the NLN and almost certainly push Brackley across to the NLS, should they miss out in the play-offs this year.
