A67
Anybody who lives West of Darlington and comes into town on the A67, may find their journey may take longer again. As you may know there are traffic lights between Piercebridge & High Coniscliffe. This is because there has been a landslip yet again and there is little between the road and the beck at the base of the slope. The council are monitoring the landslip every day, but it only seems that a bit of meshing is stopping the road from falling down he slope.
Apparently the kerb stones put in place were wrong, as they have holes in them to let the road drain better. But this has allowed the water from the road to cascade down the hill exasperating the problem.
I'd imagine that when we get the next wet weather next week, it could close the road, perhaps for years.

Well the Council seem to be finally attempting to do something about this problem, but probably a bit like trying to 'shut the door after the horse has already bolted'.

Council are now changing all the kerbs that had holes in for conventional one's. But damage has been already been done. There's been no further landslip mainly because it's been very dry recently, but any persistent heavy rain, may cause the whole lot to fall down.

Big cracks now appearing in the soil where the landslide happened. Anymore heavy rain and it could all fall down.

Anyone else find this thread a little amusing?

Btw I can’t actually see what he’s said, he’s on my ignore list; I just know it won’t be worth reading!
