My picks to go down, Tamworth, Gainsborough and North Ferriby. It's official now
Gainsborough and Tamworth were both leading in their games today, but finished up both being defeated. They play each other next Saturday in a game that can change their league positions but not keep them up.

Salford;
Salford 1-2 Boston; Salford became champions today despite losing 1-2 at home to Boston. Boston led 2-0 at half time, Salford scored with 20 mins to go but could not force in an equaliser.

Harrogate;
Bradford 3-1 Harrogate; Harrogate’s faint hope of catching Salford ended today with a 3-1 defeat at in form Bradford. Harrogate conceded the first goal in the 24th min and trailed 0-1 at half time, and conceded a second after 64 mins. After pulling a goal back after 84 mins, Bradford responded with a third after 88 mins. A Harrogate win next Saturday home to Curzon Ashton will guarantee them 2nd place for the season.

Brackley;
Southport 0-1 Brackley; Brackley scored the only goal in the 75th min, they are guaranteed 3rd place for the season, a Harrogate loss and two Brackley wins can lift them into 2nd place.

Kidderminster;
North Ferriby 1-3 Kidderminster; Kidderminster will finish 4th in the season after a 3-1 win at bottom of the table North Ferriby. Kidder scored after 18, 25 & 62 mins, North Ferriby scored a consolation goal in the 76th min.

Stockport;
Blyth 0-1 Stockport; Stockport won with a 1-0 win at struggling Blyth, scoring in the 47th min. Stockport need one more point from two games to secure 5th place for the season.

Chorley;
Tamworth 3-4 Chorley; Chorley fought back today for a memorable 4-3 win at now relegated Tamworth. Tamworth led 1-0 at half time, Tamworth then conceded an own goal to tie the score. Two more Tamworth goals after 56 and 60 mins looked bad for Chorley. Three goals in the 62nd, 65th & 77th min for Chorley turned it from 3-1 down to 4-3 up giving them three valuable points. Chorley (40 played 62 points) need two points to guarantee a playoff place.

Bradford P.A.;
Bradford 3-1 Harrogate; In form Bradford who won at 3rd place Brackley on Tuesday night today beat 2nd place Harrogate, with goals in the 24th, 64th & 88th min, Harrogate scored in the 84th min. Bradford have won four in a row and are in 7th place for a playoff spot (41 played 60pts), Spennymoor who lost today are 39 played, 59 points and an inferior goal difference. Next Saturday, Kidderminster vs Bradford P.A.

Spennymoor;
Curzon Ashton 1-0 Spennymoor ; Spennymoor’s struggles , they have not won in 5 games, continued with a 1-0 loss to Curzon Ashton who scored in the 41st min. Spenny slip to 8th place, Spenny (59 points) have two games in hand on 7th place Bradford (1 game remaining, 60 points. If Spenny turn their form around and win all three games they are in the playoffs, two wins should be enough, they are all home games in the next 7 days, with Telford, North Ferriby and Southport.

York;
York 2-2 Leamington; York ended their four game losing streak, with a home draw to Leamington. Despite trailing at half time 0-1, York fought back with goals in the 56th and 86th min. Hopes of three points were dashed with a Leamington 89th min equaliser. York in 9th place with one game left need help, they must win next week, Brackley vs York, also they need Bradford to lose, Spennymoor get no more than 2 points from their last three home games to get the last playoff place. York also have to hope Boston beneath them doesn’t win their last two games AND Blyth doesn’t win their last two games and jump over York on a better goal difference.

Boston;
Salford 1-2 Boston; Boston came out and scored in the 26th and 34th min to lead 2-0 over Salford at half time. Salford did pull a goal back in the second half but Boston held on with help from the woodwork and excellent goalkeeping to win. Boston 10th place (56 points) can still mathematically make the playoffs on 62 points, 7th place Bradford are on 60 with one game to play, 8th place Spenny 59 with 3 games to play. 9th place York (41 58pts) are also above Boston.

Blyth;
Blyth 0-1 Stockport; Blyth fell to 11th place after losing to a Stockport 47th min goal. Blyth 55 points are fighting for 7th and the last playoff spot. 7th place Spennymoor (39 played 59 pts) need 3 points to eliminate Blyth, 8th place Bradford with a win (41 played, 60 pts) would also eliminate Blyth. 9th place York (41 played 58 pts) and 10th place Boston (40played 56 pts) are also ahead of Blyth.

Darlington;
Darlington 0-0 Nuneaton; A hard fought game between the two teams resulted in the only goalless game in this division today.

Nuneaton;
Darlington 0-0 Nuneaton; Nuneaton worked hard today and will be happy to take home a point.

FC Utd of Man;
Alfreton 1-0 FCUM; FCUM went down at Alfreton to a 23rd min goal today.

Telford;
Telford 3-2 Gainsborough; Telford fought back for a great win today. Trailing 0-1 at half time, and 0-2 after 56 mins, Telford scored after 61, 67 & 75 mins to win 3-2. Telford with winning three of their last 5 games were today mathematically safe from relegation.

Alfreton;
Alfreton 1-0 FCUM; Alfreton won on a 23rd min goal. With this win, Alfreton are mathematically safe from relegation.

Curzon Ashton;
Curzon Ashton 1-0 Spennymoor; Curzon made sure they were safe from relegation with a win over Spennymoor, the only goal scored in the 41st min.

Leamington;
York 2-2 Leamington; Leamington won a point in a hard fought battle at York, after leading 1-0 at half time with a goal in the 42nd min, York scored in the 56th and 86th min only for Leamington to equalize in the 89th min. Leamington are mathematically safe from relegation.

Southport;
Southport 0-1 Brackley; Southport lost their 7th straight game, with no goals in the last 5 to a Brackley 75th min winner. They can finish the season no lower than 19th, there are no more relegation worries after Gainsborough and Tamworth lost today.

Gainsborough;
Telford 3-2 Gainsborough; Gainsborough’s great escape attempt from relegation looked to be continuing when they led 2-0 from goals in the 41st and 56th min. Unfortunately for them, Telford scored three times after the hour to win, resulting in a 2-3 loss and Gainsborough being relegated.

Tamworth;
Tamworth 3-4 Chorley; Tamworth’s struggles to avoid relegation ended today after leading 3-1 over Chorley only to go down 3-4. Tamworth scored after 16, 56 & 60 mins to lead 3-1, they also scored an own goal for Chorley’s first goal. Chorley added goals after 62, 65 & 77 mins to take home the three points.

North Ferriby;
North Ferriby 1-3 Kidderminster; North Ferriby’s 3-1 loss means they have conceded exactly 100 goals this season. Their consolation goal came in the 76th min to make it 3-1.

Looks like Blyth and York will definitely miss out on the play-offs and Spennymoor may now struggle as they have to pick up results now that Bradford PA have gone above them. A few months ago you'd have thought Blyth, York and Spennymoor were certs for the play-offs, how things have changed around.

If Spennymoor win one of their games this week (against Telford and North Ferriby) then York would go into the last day with nothing to play for.

Despite earlier thinking that there was no way for Darlington to make up the ground on play off places, it is interesting to note that had we beaten Boston and Nuneaton, getting at least a plus 3 goal difference in doing so, we would now be on 59 points and be sitting above Spennymoor with one less game to play. Would have kept things interesting right to the last game.

And if we’d lost to Spennymoor or Spennymoor had won on Saturday we wouldn’t be

There's no point about talking about if's and but's, we are where we are and over the season we haven't deserved to go up. Having said that if we had crept into the play-offs, then I think many sides in the play-offs would hope to avoid playing us.

For fear of you approaching them for a chat in the bar?

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Sorry to ruffle a few feathers, but the point I was trying to make was that a few weeks ago, when there was talk of still being in with a shot at the play offs I was thinking that it was way beyond impossible but it turns out that there was more of a glimmer of hope than I had imagined.

Hehe, no feathers ruffled here enpassant, the exchange just reminded me of that wonderful Scottish phrase.
