Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Bradford out of the playoffs and they’re having cuts next season, could give us more of a chance to look at Adam Boyes
Sam Russell could be a solution for our goalkeeper situation as well

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
How about Ashley Worsfold as a potential? Scores goals at this level, forward and currently out of contact albeit offered terms from Gainsborough.

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Would prefer Thsimanga who’s just been released from Boston over him mainly because he’s younger (21) scores 16 goals in all comps in the season just gone, Has played for Wright before and he could develop him into a better player so that we could eventually get some money for him in the future

Could be a possibility, or possibly going back in for Chambers.ReeceStyche’sManbun wrote:Would prefer Thsimanga who’s just been released from Boston over him mainly because he’s younger (21) scores 16 goals in all comps in the season just gone, Has played for Wright before and he could develop him into a better player so that we could eventually get some money for him in the future

I'd prefer Talbot to Russell.
Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Another name to throw into the ring - Jordan Nicholson.
24, attacking midfielder and released from Barnet. Played under Wright at Nuneaton in the previous two seasons.

Would take him would be solid competition with syers in that attacking midfield role

Was at Peterborough at the start of the season, then signed for Barnet. Loaned to Nuneaton last two seasons and had a good scoring record.Quakers83 wrote:Another name to throw into the ring - Jordan Nicholson.

Was on loan to Brackley for the 2nd half of this season. Didn't he also score the winner against us in last seasons home game when Nuneaton beat us 2-1, excellent finish.

Probably not a priority while Caton is still on the books though.ReeceStyche’sManbun wrote:Would take him would be solid competition with syers in that attacking midfield role

Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

He did, a very good player at this level.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Was at Peterborough at the start of the season, then signed for Barnet. Loaned to Nuneaton last two seasons and had a good scoring record.Quakers83 wrote:Another name to throw into the ring - Jordan Nicholson.

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
If Caton does stay (which I highly doubt or want tbh). I would want to see him be competition for the one of the winger spots as I do think he can do a job their as he does have the ability to take on a player and also put in a decent cross as well imoSpyman wrote:Probably not a priority while Caton is still on the books though.ReeceStyche’sManbun wrote:Would take him would be solid competition with syers in that attacking midfield role

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Looking at the netcafe from last night Johnson’s saying that we’re working on a “number of players”.
Hopefully that Danny Johnson rumour comes to fruition as him, styche, thommo, gillies, syers, and another attacking player (winger or attacking mid) should easily get at least 10 goals each next season.

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
I just have a feeling that a couple of players we could be working on are from Nuneaton given the circumstance there.
I could be wrong but they have some good players - Elliot, Green and Chambers.

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Shane Byrne from Brackley could be a potential as they’re staying down - Leicester based.

He’d be an absolutely tremendous signingQuakers83 wrote:Shane Byrne from Brackley could be a potential as they’re staying down - Leicester based.
Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Worked with Wright before, and with a nice £5k boost this afternoon it could be used to push a few deals over the line.

Or more likely be used to either clear some of the inherited debt or against the day to day running of the club.Quakers83 wrote:Worked with Wright before, and with a nice £5k boost this afternoon it could be used to push a few deals over the line.
Come on Darlo!

Greg Rutherford released by Spennymoor. 5 in 15 for Blyth before they signed him. Target man.

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Think we’ll be looking at Jordan Nicholson tbh, very good player at this level and has played under Wright in two different spells at Nuneaton.
Speaking of Nuneaton has there been anymore news regarding there owner situation, if not maybe just maybe we can persuade chambers to travel up north.

Is it a pre requisite that anyone we sign has to have played under Wright previously?ReeceStyche’sManbun wrote:Think we’ll be looking at Jordan Nicholson tbh, very good player at this level and has played under Wright in two different spells at Nuneaton.

Shrinks the possibilities a bit.

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
It’s been a common theme of his signings (apart from Heaton) that they’ve worked with him previously, but would love it if he just pulled something out the bag that nobody expected one bit.
Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Wouldn't mind anyone being announced to be honest
Although having looked, our first signing of last pre-season (Collins) didn't happen until the beginning of June. I must just be getting impatient

We didn't actually start retaining players last year until May 18th!al_quaker wrote:Wouldn't mind anyone being announced to be honest

Yes, either that or they have to have played for us before.Emdubya wrote:Is it a pre requisite that anyone we sign has to have played under Wright previously?ReeceStyche’sManbun wrote:Think we’ll be looking at Jordan Nicholson tbh, very good player at this level and has played under Wright in two different spells at Nuneaton.

I'm pretty sure DJ is still drawing up the budget isn't he? I woudn't expect any signings until we know exactly what we can afford.al_quaker wrote:Wouldn't mind anyone being announced to be honest

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Where has this Danny Johnson rumour come from???
I would be very surprised if we're even in the running. He's looking to remain full time (from what I've understand). Salford enquired a couple of months back. And I believe York have shown interest too. I expect he'll find another conference club.

Re: Transfer targets for next season.
Don't think there is any rush to make any signings.
If the season starts tomorrow we have a settled starting 11 (other than a keeper).
A lot of the signings by Gray is being done almost to appease the York fans, he has said as much that he has to be seen to be doing something - the York side needs major surgery. Even the signings that York are making aren't massive to the extent that they are going to smash the league next season.
