Re: Rugby League
Looks like Zak Hardaker is on his way to Wigan to replace Sam Tomkins. At only 26 Hardaker is likely to only get better, as long as he can overcome his personal issues.

Re: Rugby League
An absolute arse hole cost Tigers the Grand Final last season totally disrupting the run up a week before, not the first time he has been in trouble, had more chances than he deservesDarlo_Pete wrote:Looks like Zak Hardaker is on his way to Wigan to replace Sam Tomkins. Yes I was there to watch Wigan thump Warrington, took in the Castleford game afterwards and good to see you beat Leeds.

Re: Rugby League
Great to see that Zak Hardaker joins Wigan in November and a bit strange that Sam Tomkins is going to Catalan who could be in the Championship this time next season.

Re: Rugby League
Surely once he's done his punishment, then he should be free to carry on playing. I think he's had quite a few personnel issues and hopefully now he's joining Wigan, he'll get back to his former self.robsraiders wrote:Pete the guy is a cheat and had more chances than most people get, the word round west yorkshire is he is still at it good luck no doubt you will be paying him wellDarlo_Pete wrote:Great to see that Zak Hardaker joins Wigan in November and a bit strange that Sam Tomkins is going to Catalan who could be in the Championship this time next season.

Shocked to hear that Shaun Wane is leaving Wigan at the end of the season and possibly going to Catalan. Ex player Shaun Edwards is being linked with taking over when Wane leaves.

Re: Rugby League
Challenge Cup quarter finals this weekend. Catalan have already won at Huddersfield last night. Hull KR play Castleford tonight as well as Leeds v Leigh and finally Warrington play Wigan tomorrow.
I can see the line up for the semi's being
Catalan
Hull KR
Leeds
Wigan
I'm sure that Rob will disagree!!

Re: Rugby League
Sorry was looking at the superleague fixture by mistake. Think it'll be a tough match between Warrington and Wigan. Wigan will be motivated to perform after last weekends loss to Hull KR and Sean Wane leaving the club.robsraiders wrote:Would go for Catalan (already there)Darlo_Pete wrote:Challenge Cup quarter finals this weekend. Re: Rugby League
Well that didn't go according to plan as Wigan lose and get nilled. I guess we can now concentrate on the league like Castleford!!

Re: Rugby League
Close fought game between Wigan and Castleford, with Wigan just coming out on top, which should give them home field advantage in the semi-finals.

Re: Rugby League
Great to see Catalan beat Warrington and win the Challenge Cup. Well the top 4 in the Premiership are confirmed, can you make any argument for Castleford or Warrington to upset Wigan and St Helens?

Re: Rugby League
Not a big fan of the new Rugby League structure, as I think the Super 8's are working fine. The only change I would have made to the Super 8's, would be that all 8 sides start on the same number of points.

Re: Rugby League
Just realised that the Superleague Grand Final is the same evening as our game at FCUnited Of Manchester. Looks like a dash to Old Trafford from FCUM for the 6pm kick-off for either me or Robsraiders, sadly can't see anyway Wigan can avoid Castlefore in the semi-finals, so one of us is going to be disappointed.

Re: Rugby League
Well the semi finals are this coming weekend, hard to bet against the two homes sides getting through to the grand final. Also the million pound game for promotion to the Superleague, is between Toronto and the London Broncos, hard to see Toronto not winning that one as well.

A big shock as Warrington win at St Helens. Can there be another shock tonight, I very much doubt it, but I'm sure Rob will disagree?

Just buying my ticket for the game, not cheap at £40. Hope it's a bit cheaper to get into FCUM!!

Re: Rugby League
Pete best team won but as you well know money talks and you lot have plenty, a club with a population of around 40,000 have done really well pity you couldn't muster a full house mate ?

Re: Rugby League
I agree money does talk, but the majority of our team has come through a very effective youth setup, almost certainly the best in the country. Crowds could be better, but it's tough when the game is live on TV.robsraiders wrote:Pete best team won but as you well know money talks and you lot have plenty, a club with a population of around 40,000 have done really well pity you couldn't muster a full house mate ?

Re: Rugby League
You still are the Man U of the RL world, and a population of 317,000 !
But if game had been at Cas it would have been a full house, we took 4,500 fans poor support I say from Wigan, even tho on TV

Re: Rugby League
Sorry to see that the Toronto Wolfpack lost the million pound game, now Superleague will have to play in a tiny stadium, with tiny support.
