"At a meeting held at the Grammar School on Friday last - Mr Phillip Wood M.A., in the chair - it was resolved to form an Association Football Club for Darlington and neighbourhood. The opinions of those present were so unanimous as to the desirability of this step, that a committee was formed to complete the organisation of the club, and Mr Craven, 17, Garden Street, was appointed secretary pro tem." - The Northern Echo, Monday 23rd July 1883

Re: Jordan
Just said to my lad do you remember giving him a high five before Southport away 2012......he did.Not sure Jordan will remember.
Re: Jordan
Thought he had prevented penalties with his top corner save in 91st minute, so really pleased when he saved the 5th Colombian with his strong hand.

I work with loads of Boro fans and I'm making sure that they all know Jordan played for Darlo.

Re: Jordan
Because it reflects well on us and they've got no players in the England team that have played for them before. Fed up with Boro fans bragging about how good they are, it's nice for us to have something to brag about, even if it was for only a short period.AndyPark wrote:Okay, but why?Darlo_Pete wrote:I work with loads of Boro fans and I'm making sure that they all know Jordan played for Darlo.
Re: Jordan
The England manager used to manage (and play for) them.

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Jordan
Not many non league teams can say two ex keepers had made saves in a world cup penalty shoot out.

They're in the Championship, of course they don't have any players in the team.Darlo_Pete wrote:Because it reflects well on us and they've got no players in the England team that have played for them before. Their former captain and manager is now the manager mind, so it seems an odd way of having a pop at them? They're by far the most amicable of the fans of the 'big three' anyway.

Re: Jordan
It was great to hear him being interviewed on 5 live and he was talking about his old coach Mark Prudhoe......another Darlo legend
Re: Jordan
Great to see him continuing to develop confidence, making crucial saves which kept England in matches then intelligently distributing the ball out from the back. He may not be as tall as Courtois, but is the best keeper England have got.
Good role model for aspiring youngsters & great reflection on his coaches & mentors. Could be in with a chance of 'Golden Gloves' award at the World Cup.
