Spennymoor tonight.
Given the way we played on Saturday, I'd be more than happy to get a draw tomorrow evening. Hopefully not too many fans have been put off from travelling up to Spennymoor, I reckon we'll still take around 500 to the game.

They'll fancy themselves to break the darlo hoodoo. By all accounts they played really well on saturday and we'll have to play considerably better and with a more effective shape and plan to get something out of the game.

Re: Spennymoor tomorrow night.
It was disappointing on Saturday but it won't put me off, With Thompson back we should get some crosses in , I know one player can't make a team, but he will definitely improve it.

Shame Joe Tait won't be there to knock them in (for us)

Re: Spennymoor tomorrow night.
Need a 5 man midfield (with width) away at Spenny otherwise we’ll get beaten. Playing Styche and Ainge together is too attacking and will leave us exposed.

We took just shy of 800 in April for an absolute meaningless game. We will take over 1,000 tomorrow.

Two more signings for Spendymore.... those takings in the Moors Tavern and the half-time draw must really be on the up

Re: Spennymoor tomorrow night.
I thought Styche and Ainge looked good on Saturday - it will take them time to build up a partnership - providing the wingers work back and cover 4-4-2 should be OK.
Ainge's header was a cracker and I dont think many players at this level are as good in the air as him.
My concern, as it was last season, is the central midfielders. Where are the goals coming from? Wheatley is good on the ball - but I just don't see him scoring many goals and obviously Tom Elliott is a new player, he had a great chance on Saturday but was unlucky.

I still think our following tonight will be nearer to 500 than a 1000, but I guess time will tell who is right.AndyPark wrote:I’ll have some of what you’re smoking? Fucking 500, go to sleep Pete.Darlo_Pete wrote:I reckon we'll still take around 500 to the game.

From Stodd on twitter 'An attacking-looking 4-4-2 for Darlington this evening with Stephen Thompson and Alex Henshall both starting. Liam Hughes and Jordan Nicholson drop out of the side'

Re: Spennymoor tonight.
Very attacking lineup, cannot see us keeping a clean sheet tonight but can see us scoring as well.Wonder why Hughes is not in the squad, looked slow and unfit to me so not surprising.Hope our back 4 has some protection in front of them but this will not be a goalless draw without a shadow of doubt. The Equalizer wrote:From Stodd on twitter 'An attacking-looking 4-4-2 for Darlington this evening with Stephen Thompson and Alex Henshall both starting. Re: Spennymoor tonight.
Presumably Wheatley and Elliott in central midfield then?
Don't see why thats a particularly attacking line up if so, just an ordinary 4-4-2 and not particularly attacking.
Or is Syers starting in the middle?

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Spennymoor tonight.
Superb stuff. Typical I went to that dross on Saturday and couldn’t make this one tonight. Long way to go yet but must be a big improvement. Keep it up boys!
Re: Spennymoor tonight.
Excellent. Great to see Reece on the scoresheet again. Big year for him this.
Re: Spennymoor tonight.
Trotman sensational first half; Thommo hugely influential as is Wheatley.
Very feisty and won’t finish with 22 men on the pitch.
The second goal was a tremendous team goal and will be worth watching again.

FFS. Saw that coming as soon as I saw both Ainge and Styche had been taken off.

FT 2-2, frustrating but sounds like a big improvement on Saturday.

Unlike last season I think we’ll have a slow start but pick up momentum
