Dom collins

Wondering how the injury is with start of the season on Saturday, there has been no information about it since it happened. Fingers crossed for the lad that he can make a full recovery from it.

TW said it's not too bad.

Hopefully he'll be given time to fully get over this injury. Under Gray he used to play players that shouldn't have been playing and in the end doing causing them to have longer more serious injuries.

Probably only Beck that I can think of. TW persisted in playing Collins

Wrong divas MG signed Collins while he was injured and managed his injury with pain killing injections.

I know that full well. What I am saying is that TW had the opportunity to take him out of the team but he didn’t - it was on TW’s watch it when his season ending injury happened.

No divas it wasn't, as I said he was bought with the injury, and it was managed. He has not been fully fit till the start of the preseason, we thought it'd cleared up, hopefully this is a new one.

So he didn't play for TW until this season? I thought he had?

On Saturdays evidence needs to improve dramatically ... woeful as he has been at other times. Seems a reasonable game every five/six outings ..totally inconsistent

Irrespective of who is right or who is wrong, whether he is a good player or not - he has been consistently injured with us.
I think for all concerned it would be better if he has a fresh start and moves on - even if its on loan for the rest of the season until his contract expires.
When we had a settled center back pairing of Heaton and Galbraith last season, we looked much better defensively. We need to find a partner for Galbraith.

Whatever is going on with Collins I hope it's sorted out pronto. The one thing we can't afford to have is some kind of long-running dispute with a squad member not being played. Obviously words have been exchanged but the whole thing needs to be ironed out quickly one way or another. He needs to to either stay and be an active part of the squad or go. We've already got one other squad member who is elsewhere, being paid good money by us and is about as much use to us as a chocolate fireguard because he's not part of the plans. With a small squad and just about the worst defence in the league we can't just lose another option when we are so hard pressed. I really can't be arsed with any off-field issues. We need to be concentrating on winning some matches after our s*** start to the season. Rant over.

Apparently he's been ruled out for the rest of the season through injury, not sure if he's still with the club or not?

Nothing has been said about him officially since the half-time bust-up way back in August. Must have been a savage injury to have ruled him out of what will be 8 months by the end of the season.

No chance of farming him out on loan now, or offering to pay him up early so he can find another club, financially this is not good for us as he can just spend the rest of the season working on his fitness.

Would make sense if the club and him could come to a mutual agreement and let him leave.

Why? There would be no benefit for him. Paying up early would mean negotiating paying less than what he is due for the remainder of his contract so he could find another club and earn more money. If he is injured no other club will want him so he will just sit his contract out.

Does he have to show up to matches still if injured? Community days? Hospital visits (not for himself). Ultimately he can earn his corn. He won't play for us again so an agreement is needed either way. Looked a great signing on paper but made of glass, something Gray should shoulder the blame for.

That’s a good point TDS.

I’m sure we could find him other stuff to do - most employers would do this and most employees have to do this too.

That’s if he’s still getting paid, which is something no one seems to really know.

He’s confirmed on Instagram that he’s left the club, all the best in the future Dom and it’s a shame it didn’t work out.

Why isn’t this on our official website, surely this should be announced on there first.

Maybe the news can’t be released until a certain date based on the agreement that was made and maybe one party is sticking to that?

Hope the lad can regain fitness so he can enjoy playing again, even if it isn't for us. Just wondering if we can replace him with someone who really wants to play for Darlo. Come home Josh Heaton, all is forgiven ;)
PS Why can't someone just confirm some of these goings formally on our club site. I do trust some of the contributors on this site but others are just stirring the .......

I know we clamour for updates sometimes, but honestly, when the Twitter says "the club are now in a position to announce this" and it links to us saying "Defender Dom Collins has today left the club -- we would like to thank him for his 18 months of service and wish him well for the future"

I wish we hadn't bothered, honestly losing interest rapidly.
