Gulp, here we go. Regionalised draw on Monday, games played September 22 with £9,000 for the winner. Quite fancy a day out at Knaresborough despite their scary seven goals yesterday but please, please not South Shields.

Someone crap at home please. Some progress and monies are what matter most.
Of course, playing local opposition does boost the crowd. Lets just hope for someone rubbish.

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
I can't find the regional split anywhere. Is it just north and south or is there a separate Midlands draw?
Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
It's got chorley away written all over it.

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
Would love Cleethorpes away to be honest for a couple of reasons.
- I’m already down Grimsby that weekend seeing the bairn anyways, and her house is round he corner from their ground.
- Chance for me to have a night on the pop with my Grimsby mates.

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
City of Liverpool would be good. Had some good crack with their fans last season when they played Stockton in the Vase. They'd bring a couple of hundred I'm sure.
Failing that, one of the NL teams at home. Three won through so far I think.

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
Yep, step five team at home would be perfect. We'll probably get Chorley or Kidderminster away.
Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
Spendy at home would guarantee a good gate and passage to the next round.
Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
Shame Martin Gray isn’t at York still or I’d have taken that as a guarantee to Gary through!

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
The annual be excited up until about 1:01pm tomorrow, we either get a crap draw or draw someone we should probably beat and then manage to lose anyhow.
In the last 7 season we have managed 1 win in the FA Cup against West Auckland, granted 2 seasons we were not allowed to play in it but our record is terrible.
Over to you Tommy to prove me wrong and bring some excitement to the club, guarantee we will get someone like Chorley away.

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
Our record is terrible because the ex manager didn't give a fuck about the cups, in fact I'm sure he used to deliberately lose just so we could "concentrate on the league". It's not like the extra money was needed or anything - wasn't his concern.super_les_mcjannet wrote:The annual be excited up until about 1:01pm tomorrow, we either get a crap draw or draw someone we should probably beat and then manage to lose anyhow.

Whitley Bay at home would be nice. They might bring a few at least.

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
We've had Mossley before in the cup, think we won 6-2 there in Cooper's first season? Also played them in league fixtures on our way through the Evo-stick leagues.

Well we'll know our fate in 3 hours time. I expect us to lose, so anything else is a bonus.

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
If anything, today's regionalised cup draw highlights the southern bias of the pyramid at steps 1 and 2 as there are some teams in our division that we can't be drawn against e.g. Kiddy, Leamington & Brackley spring to mind.
Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
Bradford PA home.
Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
That's.... Typically crap, I'd say.
Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
Not a good draw for us. Team in the same league who have been in decent form and a good manager.
FA cup prize money has been doubled this season. It really is time we get through a couple of rounds and continue the good work of putting the club in a good financial position off the field.

Re: The FA Cup banana skins....
We know that if we play as well as we did on Saturday we can beat anyone in this draw.
I am feeling positive about our chances of moving on.
Onwards and upwards with the Quakers.

Well it could have been worse, at least we won't be going into the game expecting an easy win.

Could have been better but also a lot worse.
Home tie is decent and I think Wright will appreciate the benefit of the Cup more than Gray, so 50/50 chance really.

Doubt that Stockport will be looking forward to South Shields away.super_les_mcjannet wrote:Could have been better but also a lot worse.
