We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Lewis Wing scored an absolute screamer for Boro against Palace last night too.
How’s Curtis Edwards doing? Anyone know? Quite the trio that got away!

Re: Paul Woolston
Didn't Nathan Thomas generate a £300k plus transfer fee last year as well?
Re: Paul Woolston
I think you may be right.
The common theme being Martin brought them in, didn't play them and didn't notice their talent even in training... and he runs an academy.
Saunders & Glover have both come on notably since Tommy has been in charge. Woolston was never our player of course, but even *if* Martin saw his talent, he never acted on it. Remember; Pears was a temporary loan last year that became more long term when Tommy saw how he was an upgrade. Martin would've just demanded money to buy a player instead.

It does make you wonder what may have happened if we’d sold them on, albeit we’d never have got fees anywhere close to six figures.
Re: Paul Woolston
Woolston was on loan so not our player to sell. Thomas wasnt under contract and wanted to play at a higher level. Don't know what happened with Wing but it took him another couple of seasons to establish himself in the NL. Curtis Edwards was slated by a minority of fans so Gray did the decent thing and let him move on as it wasnt doing him any good.
Its only since Wright came in that we are looking to develop players and give them genuine game time. Gray is unfairly slated for not doing this because at the time everybody wanted promotion, not consolidation.

Completely agree with this. It was all about getting promotion which limits your opportunities for blooding young players (As they're more likely to make mistakes).loan_star wrote:Woolston was on loan so not our player to sell. Even now, when young players have played for us and inevitably made mistakes, they get slated. Saunders has been hammered in the past on here.
Wing played about 45 mins for us, and had previously been a Northern League Div 2 player. Edwards split opinion - some rated him, others hurled abuse at him. There were times he looked mentally shot. Thomas was very poor when he played for us as I recall.
H1987 has made this criticism before and admitted it's partly a reason just to have a pop at MG. But it's not a criticism that stands up to any proper scrutiny.
