National League North - FA Cup Results

Post by Darlo2807 » Sun Nov 11, 2018 2:47 pm

SOUTHPORT 2-0 Boreham Wood

Swindon Town 2-1 YORK CITY

Yeovil Town 1-3 STOCKPORT COUNTY

ALFRETON TOWN 1-4 Fleetwood Town

GUISELEY 4-3 Cambridge United

CHORLEY 2-2 Doncaster Rovers

Pretty impressive set of results, 3 teams advancing into Round Two, and one with a replay to decide. Best of luck to Chorley in the replay.

Not forgetting that stunning result for plucky little non-leaguers Salford at the League One big boys. Dont know how they manage to do it.

Would be interesting to compare their playing budgets. Don’t know what is par for league one but I know a chap who supports Southend and theirs was £3m a couple of seasons ago.

Andy Holt the Accrington Stanley owner has said that their seasons budget is £2.2m. Though that includes all non playing staff etc. By his reckoning it was the lowest in league one and lower than a number of League 2 clubs. In comparison there was speculation that Forest Green were spending Crica £1.4m on playing budget (based on amounts stated in the clubs accounts) to get out of the conference and Tranmere something similar.
