Tommy's interview - seething
Tommy's interview - seething
I'm now shaking after watching this. Ray says that we've got 2 training sessions before the next game to which Tommy admits ' The excuses for not attending training have to stop. That's probably why we're where we are. Ultimately that's down to me and players will be attending training'.
Disgraceful. Almost bordering on gross misconduct. And clearly players who are not committed. I've heard enough and he has to go now.

Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Clearly has no control over the players and how on earth are we meant to improve when players aren't turning up to training?
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
What the actual fuxk. Not attending training?
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
We (me personally and many other posters on here) have funded a third of the playing budget for players who don't turn up to training. Say what you like about MG, this wouldn't have happened under him. I was a TW sympathiser before this, not any more.
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
His admission that the players are using "every excuse in the book to not attend training" and that "We don't work together enough as a group" tells you what a chaotic regime this is. He said he had asked the players "Are they doing things right Monday to Friday?" This is shocking stuff for us to hear and just not acceptable. We have make a change for the sake of this club. It looks like things behind the scenes are an absolute mess.

Listen to the interview MK. I didn't get to the end. Had to turn it off.MKDarlo wrote:What the actual fuxk. Not attending training?

Would lay money it will be the ones having to travel up from the midlands.Darlo_CR wrote:Clearly has no control over the players and how on earth are we meant to improve when players aren't turning up to training?
If you don't turn up for training for a pub team you don't play Saturday, and that's precisely what we are at the moment.
With apologies to pub teams.
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
There is only one word. Unbelievable!
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
That's not very good.
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
These are astonishing admissions for the manager of a football club to make. What an insight though into the demoralised chaotic mess that is the background to some of the depressing things we see on the pitch. Surely he cannot survive the week now after this.

Re: Tommy's interview - seething
You’d think they had to travel from the Midlands or something.
The lot want sacking. I’ve had enough, they’re all taking the piss out of us.

Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Listened to the whole thing. Amazing.
Players shirking training
They scored at the right time
Not in a relegation battle
Everyone involved with the club can do better?
Worried ref would even it up
If I managed like that at work and let people off when they can't be arsed I would get the sack. As a club we can not allow this. It is simply inappropriate that a manager of a football team can't get his plays to show up for training. Surely that is a breach of contract on the part of the players?
As for doing better - how much more of our money do you want to waste on players who can't be arsed to train!
Get a grip man.

Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Is TW trying to be sacked? This is just gobsmacking.
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
He must be!
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
At the game today I looked at him multiple times to see if he was being proactive. Nope, was stood with his arms folded every time. Failure
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
I'm still completely perplexed as to why he's admitted that in an interview.
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Apparently Wright's a nice bloke, probably too soft, players taking advantage and not turning up for training. Unbelievable.
A good opportunity to reduce the budget further by sacking those who haven't been turning up, replace with loan players and build a team who do want to play for DFC.
I'm afraid a new manager is essential now.

Re: Tommy's interview - seething
We as fans have raised and continue to raise money for this club to find out we're paying the wages of these sorts of players, shocking, I'm lost for words I really am
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Sums it up for me. There will always be valid reasons why you can't turn up on odd occasions, especially in a part time set up, but they should be very much the exception rather than the rule.Vodka_Vic wrote:We (me personally and many other posters on here) have funded a third of the playing budget for players who don't turn up to training. I wonder if Tempest and Johnson endorsed this amateurish approach.
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Stod, if you're reading, get this on social media, a nice little Echo headline article, 'Manager admits players don't attend training' and get it out there. Shameful day for our proud club. This IS a big deal.
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Cannot see any club wanting to loan us players, to come into this mess!

Re: Tommy's interview - seething
That's genuinely gobsmacking that A) it's going on, and B) he'd admit that in an interview. He's just admitted to having no authority at all over his own squad.
Not only does it undermine any semblance of credibility he has, but to the outside, it makes us look totally ridiculous.
How can you have a manager at a club where the players can get away with not turning up for training? You just can't. It's bonkers.
If he's still in charge for Nuneaton, I would be amazed. He has to go.

Given our financial situation, Tommy has the safest job in football.

Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Not if we all club together to get rid of him
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Now I know why Gray did his grovelling article in the Echo!
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
Now we are beginning to discover the real reasons why we have won only 4 games out of 20 this season despite handing TW a good budget. I don't know how he can ever again go into that dug-out in front of our fans. All credibility and trust has now gone.

Re: Tommy's interview - seething
That''s ridiculous, you can't have fans fundraising to sack the manager. Either DJ is prepared to take a risk and go into debt to bring in a new manager, or Tommy keeps the job for as long as he wants.darlo reborn wrote:Not if we all club together to get rid of him
Re: Tommy's interview - seething
All I can think is that it's a thoughtless comment aimed at deflecting the blame off him and putting responsibility on them. But then in the interview he suddenly admits 'Oh yeah, I guess it's my responsibility'. He clearly has a hands off style of management, like Ruud Hullitt at Newcastle sitting in a deckchair. You do need some discipline as a manager though and it seems he's so hands off that there's none. We can now see what people like Phil Turnbull were referring to when they left, proud players who could see this happening and while they were there their pride saw us through.Darlo_CR wrote:I'm still completely perplexed as to why he's admitted that in an interview.
