Quick note for anyone travelling by train:

Northern are on strike so there are no trains. It is a rail replacement bus from Bolton hourly at XX:10 or a service bus from Preston

There is no service at all to Euxton Balshaw Lane which is about 3 Miles from Chorley FC

Anyone recommend any decent boozers pre-match in the town centre?

Good news about the fresh players but on no account should Thompson be dropped. Wright needs to put him in the position he feels happiest in because I think his relatively quiet form has come from him being asked to do things he's not there for and he's lost confidence. At his best he might be the best player in the division so he should be managed carefully.

Note recent TW interview he is soon back to being in denial about last weeks defeat, we were better team, robbed, good players etc etc, wish he would be honest & bloody change the record.
Note the new striker from Sunderland Andrew in his interview mentions he knows a few players when he was at Harrogate last season at which time Ainge was injured! no surprise there then. Cannot see Ainge making himself available until after New year

If i was a gambling man, i'd suspect we will go with the new lad and Thompson up top, and drop Harvey to the bench. No issue with Harvey at all, but take the expectation off him a bit and see what the new lad can do.

I think the new midfield lad from Leeds (Wollarton?) will be on the bench right now, but expect Kokolo will start.

What’s the betting Tommy will replace Harvey with Nelson and put the new lad from Leeds on the bench as I don’t see him dropping Elliott and O’Hanlon as he appears very loyal to these two.

Pete because you've bumped up an old thread saying that it has been rearranged - some people might think that it has been ----- rearranged again! :?

I actually think that's what will happen, and don't think it's necessarily a problem. Harvey is still young, i would be loathe to break his confidence by becoming reliant on him to perform in every single game. The other lad scored a few times for Falkirk in the Scottish Champo last season, he should be up to this level.

What they don't tell you above is the Ground address it is PR7 3DU for anyone visiting for the first team. Beware their famous "Butter pies" unless your cholesterol is very low!

I read that aye, but there's no harm in asking people on here.

They might have recommended specific pubs to go to that are welcoming for away fans.

Can't imagine we're going to get anything different tomorrow even with the new loan signings. Chorley are a very solid team built on not conceding. And based at the rate we conceded likelihood is we'll have to score more than 2 against the best defence in the league.

Gawd knows what formation we'll play with the new signings. Doubt it will matter but I'd go for something like:

------------------------ Maddison -----------------------

Trotman --- Burn ---- Galbraith --- O'Hanlon

-------------- Wheatley ----- Elliott -------------------

Thompson ------ Nicholson -----,---- Kokolo

------------------------- Nelson ---------------------------

Subs: Wollerton, Henshall, Saunders, doesn't really matter.

We'll lose 3 or 4 - 1. Tommy will come out and tell us project promotion is on track, that we played well in spells and deserved more from the game. Then he'll tell us that not one of the players followed his tactics, I imagine this consists of asking them really nicely to win, so as not to when their fragile natures.

Only one change I would make from your line up and that's Wollerton in for Elliott, midfield is one area where we need a bit more bite , I hope Wollerton can provide that.

Yep, I spotted this further up the thread, at a glance it looks like the game is off.

In order to get the new players in, I presume they will have to of been given some sort of guarantees about game time. I very much doubt that sitting on the bench will be what they had in mind when they came to our club.

Read the netcafe Pete

If ever a club needed a win to lift the gloom...
