16 year old to captain Darlo

Another academy publicity stunt to attract kids for next year, lets get back to the serious business of getting a win at BM instead of crass headlines

Well, considering some of the comments on here about this season's captains and lack of motivating/setting an example maybe he should be given a chance before we have a go at him? He already has a captain's role so perhaps he'll do well. Walcott played for England at just 17 so let's wait and see.

Of course it is a publicity stunt to attract kids to the academy, but what's wrong with that.
It has no bearing on league matches and gaining a win a B.M.

It is certainly a refreshingly innovative idea to have someone other than a forward to captain the side. Perhaps TW will take heed of this if such radical thinking comes off.

It's the Durham Challenge Cup - if we start caring about that we truly have reached tinpot status

The squad.

Hall, Maddison, Trotman, Banks, O’Hanlon, Lycett, Burn, Galbraith, Hoare, Stansfield, Glover, Lingthep, Henshall, Nicholson, Morrison, Thompson, Saunders.

Got to agree we will get steam rolled :D

Still going to watch though, it will be interesting to see how the young lads get on, I have watched them they are very quick and confident.

Yes I will be going down tonight as well. Hope the young lads do well but watched Stockton video's there not a bad team and shoot on sight, usually on target as well. Let's hope we have not wound them up by them thinking we have dis respected them by playing a 16 year old captain.
Wonder what training the players not selected will be doing?

Stockton are my local team and I watch them when Darlo are not playing. They’re a very good NL side and play decent football on their 3G pitch.

Kev Hayes on the left wing is the one to watch. Very skilful player with good pace. Got a dream move to Spennymoor in the summer but it didn’t work out so he’s back at Stockton.

You’ll recognise me at the game. I’ll be the one with two scarves

Funnily enough I did email Darlo about him last year. No idea if they had a look at him. Spenny forked out £10k for him last summer

If we go and win it the cumulative prize money, given a decent gate for,the final, will be around 2 grand. Better than a kick in the bollocks.

Got to say that’s one of best first half performances by a Darlo team in a while

Nicholson playing really well, arguably our best player this season.

I’d say Saunders and Trotman are up there.

Stockton are looking much the better team in the second half.
