Is there an argument? Struggling to think of anyone else really
I’d say Saunders and Trotman are up there.
Both had spells but neither have been as consistently good (relatively speaking of course in this abomination of a season so far)

Best result for us tonight is Ashton Utd getting stuffed 6-0 by Stockport.

So, after all the "supportive" comments about our young captain ending up in row 6 and that were going to get stuffed we've had an excellent home victory. How did the young players do?

The young lads did well. They kept it simple and none of them looked out of place. It was a good team display but to be fair I expected more from Stockton. They did have a good spell second half but the game was lost by then.
Thommo seems to have lost his luck in front of goal and looked frustrated with himself, plenty of good work undone with his final shot. He’ll come good though soon I reckon.

Thought the young lads did well last night and I enjoyed the game. Thommo needs to score some goals as his confidence is low when he is shooting at goal and can see his head go down where the rest of his play was good. The one thing I enjoyed besides Saunders goals was Galbraith in the second half became vocal when Stockton were getting on top and giving advice to the young lads. Wish we had a few others who were a bit more vocal and supporting each other.

Was it a full Stockton side that played, or did they also field a weakened team?

Stockton entered the game without some key names with Tom Coulthard and Fred Woodhouse missing through injury and Kevin Hayes cup-tied having played against the Anchors for Spennymoor in the previous round.

On the highlights looked like Nicholson was a real handful, Saunders was obviously sharp and Maddison produced some good stops. Maybe Stockton were over-confident having tonked Spendymore previously.

Anyone know what the official attendance was last night? I guessed 275 .
We might get a few more if Hartlepool beat Gateshead and we get a home draw in the next round

162

Piss poor weather and scheduling major factors I suspect. Decent turnout from Stockton though.

Hartlepool United are already through to the 3rd round. It's Hartlepool Wearside getting beat 4-0 by Gateshead. Would be an interesting game to say the least if We drew them at home in the next round!

Probably the most excitement there's ever been about the Durham Challenge Cup.

Still, it's mildly reassuring to see we can at least dispatch Northern League sides. TW in, that's what I say.
