Omar Holness
Omar Holness
A Jamaican international signs.
Ok. That's a bit mental. Maybe Kneeshaw knew him from the states? Has never played in the UK before.

Good luck and welcome to the club.
Re: Omar Holness
Trying to find a bit about him position wise. There's even youtube videos of him courtesy of him playing in the states... most have him listed as a central midfielder. Hopefully he can add a bit of bite and energy in the middle of the park. We badly need it.

He’s a defensive midfielder

Re: Omar Holness
Clearly something about him considering he was deemed good enough to play in MLS. Only turned 25 today, so can get a decent few years out of him.
Positive signing by the looks of it, hope he is the creative midfielder we sometimes miss

Re: Omar Holness
Looked him up on Football Manager - he's class on that so we're all good. Central or right mid. Looks comfortable running with ball.
Feels like a proper Hodgy-era left field signing

Hope we have got all the international clearance stuff sorted - the last thing we need is a points deduction
Re: Omar Holness
Looks like his career was hit by a bad knee injury.

If he breaks from defence, runs at the opposition and scores like that he can celebrate anyway he wants - no matter how embarrassingpoppyfield wrote:Found this , he can dance a bit as well!

Re: Omar Holness
Joins the ranks of Adrian Webster, Reece Styche and Franz Burgmeier as internationals to pull on the mighty black and white hoops in recent times.
Any others i'm missing?
Can't find any information on how long the deal is.

Looking at wikipedia I am not sure he has played for Jamaica since 2014.
If playing for country before us then I think Franz Resch maybe another...

Looks really good endzone to endzone and when he is running looks like he is chewing up real estateAlfie wrote:If he breaks from defence, runs at the opposition and scores like that he can celebrate anyway he wants - no matter how embarrassingpoppyfield wrote:Found this , he can dance a bit as well!

We will be playing at the arena again next season - fact.
Quakerz - if you actually attended games and spoke to people you might actually find our facts, rather than spreading s*** on this board.

Re: Omar Holness
I see a lot of what is missing from our squad with in him runs at defenders and can put the ball into the net. Looks strong and athletic as well. Let's hope he is the missing cog, I think it's a good call from the boss.

Jason De Vos-our most capped? Played 49 times for Canada. I still have some great photos of him and Darren Roberts when my lads were mascots at Feethams.

Re: Omar Holness
How does Holness come to be playing for a North East Non League Club?
His background seems to be playing in USA , in college football and then MLS etc.
There is no mention that I have seen of any connection with the UK, let alone the North East. I am sure he never left the USA to play part time football in England.
So, what is his connection with England and or the North East?
PS He appears to have some great body movement and a fantastic change of pace in the online clips I've seen.
The one thing he may struggle with is the physical side of the game. In the USA, the MLS and schools/ college football is a lot less of a contact sport than in the UK

John Woolnough wife is Jamaican I believe and they obviously have contacts there so perhaps that’s the connection, I’m looking forward to seeing him play he may be a real find, just wish the weather forecast wasn’t as bad.
