According to Wikipedia, he turned out for West Auckland at the age of 52 (he was their manager at the time), in 2008.H1987 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:47 pmDrawing his pension I would imagine...Wiseacre wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 4:07 pmFred Barber was the best keeper I think I've seen at Quakers and he wasn't a big fella. The better Darlo teams have always had a strong goalie and if this one turns out well we could do something. Five feet seven can't be right though, the only really short keeper I can remember is Phil Owers who had to cope behind a terrible Darlington team in the early seventies which let in 12 goals in two games with Owers keeping quite a few out. He really got the short straw that season anyone know how he's doing now?

Re: Chris Elliott
Thanks for that I was really pleased to know he had such a long career, that season for Darlo must have been hard going but it doesn't seem to have put him off. I'm pretty sure he was in the Frost programme - I think he lived on a farm and ate a pie before the match.biccynana wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 9:54 pmAccording to Wikipedia, he turned out for West Auckland at the age of 52 (he was their manager at the time), in 2008.H1987 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 8:47 pmDrawing his pension I would imagine...Wiseacre wrote: ↑Thu Jun 27, 2019 4:07 pmFred Barber was the best keeper I think I've seen at Quakers and he wasn't a big fella. Re: Chris Elliott
I wouldn’t of thought so as you have trialist who come and go
Re: Chris Elliott
No, i don't think so. I wonder if we'll see some trialists also. I reckon we may see Holness and the Bermudan striker who are supposedly training with us at least.
